We had the good fortune of connecting with L.”Von” Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi L.”Von”, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I decided to pursue an artistic career because I have always had a vivid imagination. Whether it was music, writing, film, dance, I was always….curious. I read somewhere that said, that you are the only one like you that will ever exist, if you don’t share what you were meant to, it will be lost forever, once you’re gone. You’ll never know if what you’re creating will be influential to another. I believe that what we create is meant to be shared.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a screenwriter, singer/songwriter, content creator and small business owner. I think what sets me apart is that I believe in expressing myself uniquely……standing out. In all my creative endeavors, I try to present authentically and distinctly. I got to where I am by continuing to try. I have learned new skills to further my pursuits, and I just keep trying! Being an artist isn’t easy, as art is escapism, and you have to make a living. But I find if you put yourself out there, the people your were meant to reach with your art will find you and that will enrich you in more ways than one!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my friend were visiting Atlanta. We could grab brunch over at Grits and Eggs Breakfast Kitchen. I would take them to a comedy show at The Atlanta Comedy Theater or to check out a band at St. James Live. Then maybe we could head over to Cafe Intermezzo for late night drinks and eats in a chill setting. There are so many good options for fun and entertainment in Atlanta, we’d have the best time!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I dedicate this Shoutout to Andre’ D. Congo. Andre’ was an actor with credits that spanned both stage and screen. I had been pursuing a career in the arts for a very long time. When he and I met and I became open enough to show him all that I am, creatively, he encouraged me in words and deeds. I was sharing some of my creativity, but not all. He encouraged me to put it ALL out there. I always say that he will forever be tattooed on my heart!
