We had the good fortune of connecting with Kenyatta Freeman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kenyatta, what are you inspired by?
I am inspired by my family and my friends. I come from a family of hustlers and my friends are the same way. We don’t wait for anything to just come to us, we go get it. Watching those around me chase their dreams and make things happen for themselves inspires me to go even harder for my own. They show me that anything is possible when you work hard and believe in yourself. The support we show each other helps too.
What should our readers know about your business?
I am someone who doesn’t like being tied to a schedule someone else sets for me. Having my own business let’s me set my own schedule according to what works for me. I like being in control of how my days will go. Being willing to work harder than everyone else is what has helped me to get to where I am today business-wise. Even when someone has more than you: knowledge, opportunity, money, hard work has always been what I had more of than anyone else. Be it multiple jobs, longer hours or the just the tenacity to not quit when everyone else did. I have learned that nothing will be given to you and no one owes you anything or will give you anything for free. Be willing to work and go get yours. You are the only one responsible for your success. The most important factor behind my success/brand is my authenticity and staying true to who I am. My clients know this and love me for it. They know that I will always be me and I will always put their best interest first. I can’t be fake and I won’t sacrifice what I know is best for my clients just for money. If I can’t get it as me or get it doing what is best for you, I don’t need it.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would definitely do Mexican Food on the Boat and Coco Bistro Restaurant in NYC. Kokomo Restauarant in Williamsburg Brooklyn for brunch is a must! Roller skating is my all time favorite so we would hit up the roller skating rink in Brooklyn as well as a picnic in Brooklyn Bridge Park. A day party on Saturday and my favorite bar on Fulton Street, Famous Last Words.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a special shoutout to my support system, my family and friends! Thank you for having my back and supporting me for almost 13 years throughout my career. I would also like to give a special shout out to my daughter Kaylen, She’s been my motivation these last 14 years I love her more than anything . Last but not least I have to give a special shout out to my business manager and Cloud Queen Jeameeka Means! She has been with me every step of the way, I had an idea and she helped me turn it into reality.
