We had the good fortune of connecting with Kawon Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kawon, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
So… with me being a parent and a creative I would say the most important thing I could impart to impact my children’s life hasn’t fully happened yet. Not in a bad way either but I believe something they can feel hasn’t transpired yet. I’m still growing in my professional career and I know they have some growing to do before BIG lessons or those IMPACT things and moments happen for us, I’m patiently waiting though. I mean they see me working hard and creating in and around the house but its just one of the things that dad does” vs them seeing me on tv for a mural debut where a entire town is excited for example.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Alright… elevator pitch in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1

Hi my name is Kawon Jones and I’m a Multidisciplinary artist based out of Atlanta Georgia. My focus is urban stylized art with an application in public spaces, print, and publishing. What sets my artistry apart from others is my ability to take on proportion and stylizing figures. Graffiti as a art form has been heavily influential on my more recent works to where it shows up instantly but in other applications I will say my illustrative strengths have shown to be interesting to collectors.

This year I hosted my very own and very first art show and it did very well stay tuned for a solo show in quarter 4. Arriving at the level where I am professionally has not been easy or without strife. The art has been easy so to speak but the overall journey has been the most trying of it dealing with life and work and managing it all and leaving time for creativity the same.

Overcoming the challenge has been a test of patience and resilience I’ve had moments of unclarity but I always remember to prioritize what matters in the moments the most. Things and lessons I’ve learned along the way are to not shy away from a challenge and stay consistent.

The thing I would want people and the world to know about my brand and me is that I’ve really worked for everything that you may see me with I’ve been through adversity I’ve revamped I adapt but my passion has remained consistent and that I aim to be the best steward with the God given abilities that I have and serve others.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
