Meet Kalika Wade | Photographer & Shoe Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kalika Wade and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kalika, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
The most important concepts I’ve instilled in my children is entrepreneurship and continuing education. As a business owner and student currently enrolled in a Ph.D. program, I noticed my 16 year old daughter following suit. She has recently launched a booming business, Cozmetix avenue. Children watches everything their parents do. Therefore, it is of utmost importance that as parents, we nurture, support, and invest into their dreams as much as our own.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Some people coin me as a renaissance woman due in part to the fact that I am versatile and talented in many ways. My art forms are photography, music, graphics, and audio. I have designed a custom shoe line, made in Italy called Kali.Shani Shoes. What sets me apart from others is that I take all of my talents and combine them. For instance, If I am taking an abstract photo, I would combine it with graphic design. I have made it to where I am today by perseverance, hard work, and social media marketing. I also like to share my experiences to help others successfully launch their careers by teaching photography on an adjunct level at a local school, Clayton State University. What I would love the world to know about Kalika Wade Photography| KW2studios, Inc is that I would go the extra mile to create and satisfy my customers with unique products

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Some of the most interesting and exciting things to visit in Atlanta are some of the hidden jewels that people don’t think to go to. I would take my visitor to the following places: • Breakfast at Barney’s Atlanta
• Oceanaire- this restaurant has exquisite cuisine
• Newman Wetlands Center-this is a beautiful location hidden in Clayton County where individuals can take a hike and take amazing photographs.
• MLK Center- This location is rich in history
• Atlanta Beltline
• GA aquarium
• World of Coca Cola
• Skyview Atlanta
• Atlanta Hawks Game
• Atlanta Falcons Game

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my mother Kimberly, Aunt April, loving husband Keon and my children Trinity, Caleb, and Charity. Each of those individuals have made some type of impact in my level of motivation to keep going.
