We had the good fortune of connecting with Jimmy Winfield and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jimmy, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
I deal with this dilemma just about every day. I moved to Atlanta to pursue an acting career, I gave up everything I had and moved to Atlanta from Louisiana. The road has been rough, but every time I think about giving up I think about the sacrifices I’ve made. The greater the sacrifice the greater the reward. So I believe that a person should never give up. Keep trying don’t give up. The key to success is focusing on goals not obstacles.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Hard work and dedication got me where I am today. Also having people that believe in me has played a great part in my success. It wasn’t easy and it’s still not easy but I keep pushing because I believe that something great is going to happen. I learned what my purpose is. Moving to Atlanta gave me a passion for filming and acting. I’ve learned that I love making content, and I want the world to know that I will be a great filmmaker.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to The laughing Skull or to Katts Comedy here in Atlanta. Then we would go to my favorite breakfast spot the Waffle House

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Most definitely with out my parents and my family I don’t know where I’d be, but most of all I give a shout out to my son who is my guardian angel. Ik he’s watching over me. I believe that he’s doing something miraculous for me in the spiritual world.
