We had the good fortune of connecting with jimmy. and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi jimmy., why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I pursued a artistic career because I have a vision of what I would want to come from this craft. I want to build a strong base and community that uplifts each other. Ever since I was a child, I felt out of place with everything around me. Being so different and coming up through this art, I started to realize that there are likeminded individuals out there. I want to build a community of likeminded individuals through out the world to establish self appreciation and self expression. In a way, I stand for liberation for all kinds and on all ends. I’m not just in it for the bread. My personal growth is embedded in my art as well as my experiences. I am an alchemist with my words.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
If there’s one things I want to communicate with the world is that it is not easy being a black man with my background out here. We either die or end up in jail. I want to stop perpetuating that image to the media. What keeps me out of the box compared to the landscape is I don’t fear being different or standing out, my authenticity with my self expression sets me in a different lane opposed to forcing an image. I got where I am today through an abundant amount of struggle. Pain and hard work. The more I put time in my craft, the more I’m able to phase through the challenges that come my way. I want the world to know that it is very possible for them to be themselves. My biggest lesson has been that the cogs will move if you move, no ifs ands or buts about it.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I don’t really get out too much these days. But I used to go to a lot of local venues for live music. Ever since COVID these places have been less accessible. The Coca-Cola factory is always a masterpiece to enter. I also appreciate the Georgia Aquarium. I love marine animals.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a shoutout to my TESTING members, joe kappa and lucid jason and also everyone involved in my brand #FREESMOKE. Shoutout to everyone who has supported me thus far.
