We had the good fortune of connecting with Jeremy “J Flo” Lawrence and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jeremy “J Flo”, what do you attribute your success to?
I feel as though both my loyal fan base that carried over from me doing music; along with my not allowing fear to stop me from doing anything I want is the driving points behind my success. People don’t buy products anymore. They buy the BRAND and what it represents to them. My brand is for those who create and aren’t afraid of the unknown or failure.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I design clothing, and more important; SNEAKERS. That’s what sets me apart. I make and sell my own sneakers. That excites me daily. I’m a huge sneakerhead and have been for years, so to be able to throw my hat in the ring and have people rock my footwear…. thats surreal. Was it easy? No! Lol. Not in the slightest, but thats why it’s not for everyone. I create sneakers for creatives. We take care of each other.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Hmm. Brunch we gotta go to STIR or BELLA LISBOA, start if off right with some excellent food and mimosas on deck. My hometown is really scenic, not so much a “hip” big city. We’d probably check out some hidden gems like the arcade/bar we have here. The Selfie Musuem. Top golf. Catch a fashion show, or get a booth at the Chattanooga Cigar Bar. I’m from the south so I’d probably plan a classic southern Bar B Que and invite ally people to party with some 90s music and good times. Dominoes, spades, tunk, drinks. Just some feel good stuff.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to shout out my hometown of Chattanooga, Tennessee. They’ve had my back for YEARS and have supported me in literally every single endeavor I embark on. I carry #423 wherever I go and it’s ALWAYS love. There are geniuses in that city. People need to wake up
