We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer Hamilton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jennifer, how does your business help the community?
My work helps the world through building connections and creating supportive resources that can foster individuals growth. Through the wide range of free products and services to the paid content and monthly subscriptions, I continue to create outlets and platforms for anyone struggling who is looking for alternatives to doing things by themselves.

You see, I grew up without access to tools and resources that I needed to better myself. I didn’t have access to what we do today like the internet, social media, YouTube and podcasts. I had no idea those tools even existed when I was younger. Now that they are well integrated into the lives that make up society, I want to be there to provide options to those who crave more for their daily lives.

How do I do that? I offer free podcasts, information, videos and posts, live support groups and so much more! I offer books, classes and tutorials, other connecting points that those who can afford it have access to. I have been both homeless and home. I have been broke and rich. I have been down and up. I know what it’s like on both sides of the coin and so I offer countless homemade resources to those on each side.

How does that help? It brings people together who might not have any other reason to interact. This creates an inviting opportunity to level the field for everyone. There is constant talk in today’s online world that highlights our differences (both in a good way and bad) and while I celebrate our unique individualism, I also want to make the connection that we are all still humans who deal with things that cause us deep grief, sadness, hopelessness, and otherwise is difficult to endure. From my own personal experience, it has always been easier to get through life with a good group of supportive friends than when I felt I had no support or no one.

I think these are the key reasons my business helps the world and our community.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business is built on my healing journey and my desire for others to heal too. I feel like many people these days want someone they can see as either less than or equal to themselves. I don’t mean to sound harsh but rather realistic about society’s expectations and how they are shifting because of social media and online access.

How many people do you have rooting for your success currently? How many of those people love getting text messages or phone calls about something you have achieved or overcome?

Personally, I have struggled with finding genuinely happy people cheering for my achievements. What I see more of is the cheap “good job” that is covered and dripping from deep-seeded jealousy or actual disgust.

This is just the way things are right now for many people! I’d say, if you have a good group of supportive people who can handle your constant success, you hold on to that group and let each one of them know how much they mean to you because you are in the minority!

But, so the steady decline of support creates a need. A need to be supported. I’ve been there, you’ve been there, we all have been there. So let’s do our part to grow our own support systems through as many forms as we can- and that is my business.

I’m on as many of the popular social media platforms as I can juggle. I am sending my message out in as many different forms and times as I can creatively conjure. I am working tirelessly to creative constant influx of ways people can connect with me, tools that they can connect with, options for those who aren’t ready to meet others, options for those who want to buy things, and so many more pieces of the puzzle that ultimately equates to a self-supporting community that can one-day feed itself and care for itself through whatever tools I and they create.

It’s a BIG project!

…But this project is so necessary for our world and our people who are so hungry for beings seen. How many livestreams have you seen that people are practically begging to be noticed? How many accounts on whatever social media you favor are of people trying to get the attention of others? And for what? Some money, some fame, some for love, some for other reasons… but the general desire is to be valued in some way.

If I can create a live support group on Discord that meets once a week so that people can share their story, listen to encouraging feedback and support, and then go out and add that hope to the world, is that not a business that is unique? Does that not set me apart from others?

My goal here is to funnel these broken and hurting individuals into a tunnel of various creative homemade resources that they can pick and choose what they want to try, and have them pop out on the other side ready to take on life and make a positive change for the world… and what is absolutely crazy is that I get fed by this too because I know have a positive outlet to let my creative imagination flow which both heals me and feeds me. So we all win.

I think this is what sets me apart from any other business.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Atlanta has a wonderful eclectic range of activities that can meet anyone’s desires and dream vacation!

My favorite places to go include:

-Lake Alatoona (activity)
For most of the year, the day time weather is prime for a day at the beach. Bring your chairs, a cooler, and a little shaded canopy to experience a relaxing day in the shiny sand and the cool water. They have bathrooms, playgrounds, and plenty of walking for pets, children, and elderly alike. I love that the boat launch is so accessible too!

-Roswell Mill (activity)
This is another awesome place to go because they have waterfalls, hiking, an assorted selection of small beaches and rest spots, as well as historic value that cannot be beat!

-Floga (dining)
A new Mediterranean style cuisine restaurant has just opened near Roswell Mill where a savy musician plays, the waiters are kind and knowledgeable, and the dining experience is 5 start for sure. Be sure to dress nice at this fantastic multi-course-meal location!

-The Battery (activity)
Of course most of my friends are baseball lovers so we’d be sure to take advantage of the Battery’s 2 free parking hours in their various parking garages while we shop, listen to live music, and watch the game.

-Park Bench (activity)
A fun and exciting experience, I love going to Park Bench for the music, the drinks, and the general ambiance of Atlanta Brave natives! The dueling pianos show here is top notch!

-Cuts Steakhouse (dining)
Out near Alpharetta is a fantastic dining spot called Cuts where good music and good food always warms my heart in the middle of the week! We love going there Wednesday nights to see Josh the piano player!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
To be honest, this may seem cliche but I genuinely want to shout out Jesus Christ. I met Him at a young age during one of the many hardships I faced. Since that day, He has stood by my side through it all reminding me to love even when it hurts, to forgive even if I don’t agree to what they did, and to offer grace when I can’t see how someone could make the choices they make. He truly has taught me how to be who I am today and continues to teach me how to be better, think better, do better than I did yesterday. Thank you Jesus for loving me, supporting me, and encouraging me despite my flaws, errors, and overall humanness.
