We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennie Galbraith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jennie, as a parent, what do you feel is the most meaningful thing you’ve done for them?
Our ten year old son Tanner has watched our mobile bar business evolve from day one. It’s had a tremendous impact on him because he sees the physical work, the long hours at my desk and the reward and satisfaction we feel at a job done well. He helps us with loading, set up, clean up and he’s even served mocktails at local and school events. I can see how proud he is to wear his uniform and nametag and be recognized by his teachers and friends. He’s learned how to speak to guests and handle money. Real life application of skills that he learns at school has made him see how to put all the pieces together to help start and run a business. He tells his teachers he wants to be an entrepreneur someday like his mom.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Pour Pony Mobile Bar provides bartending, bar rental and beverage service for corporate or social events. If you are having a wedding, office celebration or holiday gathering we make the planning easy by providing custom menus that suit your tastes and theme. With our portable bars and vintage horse trailer bars we can bring the bar to you!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would show them the very best of our fabulous city of Atlanta and surrounding North Georgia! A hike up Stone Mountain would be a great place to start with a bike ride and lunch on the beltline Ladybird Grove & Mess Hall. Tours at World of Coke, the Aquarium and High Museum of Art would make the list of course! History lessons at MLK Museum and Jimmy Carter Center are a must when visiting Atlanta. I also really love the North Georgia countryside and mountains so a drive to Helen and Brasstown Bald with lunch at a quaint restaurant along the way would round out our week of vacation in Georgia!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I was never the type to make a quick decision. I like to ponder big things and mull them over before implementing ideas or change. My good friend Amber is a think on her feet business woman. She will have 100 irons in the fire and still charge towards a “new ideer” as she calls them. When I had this thought about building a horse trailer bar it was really just something that I knew we as crazy horse girls would love and enjoy. At first it wasn’t even a business idea, it was just something cool to work on. Having her as a friend and seeing how she would make things happen so quickly in her own business ventures it changed my mindset a bit and I decided to ponder less and trust my gut more.
