Meet Jeffrey Houston | Recording artist known as LeVII/ Therapeutic Art Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jeffrey Houston and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jeffrey, why did you pursue a creative career?
The reason I decided to pursue a Creative Career was because it’s the only thing that made sense to me. My mind is full with colors and music that the world haven’t been exposed to. Everything in the world has its purpose and for a long time I’ve always marched to my own drum and created things out of nothing and being a vessel of creative energy is my purpose.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is for the people, not just one set of people but for all people, it’s for the universe and from the universe. The thing that separates me from others is my connection and light that I have. I’m not just a singular being I’m everyone, all of us in one, I hold up the mirror and show you the things that you should love about yourself. It wasn’t easy getting to this point even now I’m still trying and that’s all I can do is try and give it everything I can because that’s my purpose but the challenges that I’ve faced are not being accepted or not being wanted in certain spaces because my sound wasn’t the desired sound for the moment but the way I’ve overcame it was just by showing up and showing out no matter what anyone says or feels because it’s me and even if no one accept me I accept me. The one thing that I want the world to know is that my brand is for all ages and genders no matter who you are or where your from my rose garden is a safe space for my roses to be themselves no matter what the world wants them to be.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First we would go to Slutty Vegan because who doesn’t love them, After we would head out to Top Golf because I love to go golf, Now depending on the vibes for the weekend if there is a event happening or a party going on I would take them there but only if Feevah or Just Venus are there, When Sunday rolls around and Soul Theory is having their market at 4u recording I would take them there to experience an atmosphere filled with nothing but creative energy and awesome people. I don’t like to do a lot but when I do those are the things I would recommend.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Some groups and people I want to shoutout first and foremost would be my group that have been by my side since I’ve started which is Black Rose Family which consists of some amazing people (Zak G, Nazzy, JuJu Thee Blackrose, Myshh, and also P.S the Poet) I also want to give a shoutout to The Frank White Experience for showing me the ropes, James H. who showed me a different way to look at life and taught me it’s okay to want more out of life, and Kae’chauna Sinclair for understanding my vision and being with me every step of the way. Also want to give Soul theory the biggest shoutout not only for having on their platform but for believing in me and showing me nothing but love And to top it all off Rakim although I only met him once he showed me that I belong in this space.
