We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasmine Minori and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jasmine, what inspires you?
As an artist I feel everything, I am moved by everything details, colors, nostalgia, wholesome experiences bad experiences music, art, you feel me? I take from everything I have crossed paths with and it inspires me to create. Individuality is something I’ve always had & I didn’t have anyone growing up who understood me, people always trying to change who i am, my personality, my art, how i do art, how I was different, learned differently, expressed myself differently, walked at my own pace, so I am heavily inspired by ME . I really am my biggest inspiration.

When I first started Make-Up Artistry i was doing glam the basic make up looks and gradually getting better . I moved to Los Angeles and was ready for a change. glam became boring and repetitive to me. I started doing little fun more out of the box box looks. & that’s when i decided this is what I want to pursue next! I have a thing for kawaii so I started doing these Kawaii inspired inspired make up looks on myself then gradually on my clients. I made it my signature creative glam. I love having fun with make up trying different shapes adding stickers just crazy fun stuff I don’t feel like It should be taken seriously. My creativity and what inspires me really shines & shows in my work when I do these creative glam looks.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’ll take them to get some good Jamaican food some fun cocktails and the ambience has to be a vibe.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My father is an artist, musician, pianist, can play all the instruments and also produces an engineers, so I grew with that my WHOLE life. He’s always had an in home studio. My family had a band and would always perform I remember since I was born I would always be at my dad‘s performances and I would be sleeping on the chairs because of how late it was, they were passionate. I just grew up you know with a father who loved making music and was very devoted to, so I think that has a a big significant role in why i have pursued my artistry, just in my own way.
