We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasmin K and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jasmin, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process behind me deciding to start my own business was that I knew I wanted to do it! I came from a low income background so I knew that I did not want to work a 9-5 job for the rest of my life. I used to have these visions where I could foresee what I wanted and what the outcome would be, when you go through so much growing up, you just have to want something better for yourself and for that I knew what I wanted to do, where I wanted to be, where I wanted to go and the time frame I would love to have everything done. While starting a business is not for the weak it taught me so much things that I thought you knew. There were days where I wanted to give up but I knew I couldn’t. It’s more self educational then anything especially while coming in with no knowledge of it at all, I educated myself every night. it really put my mind in 3rd gear lol. Starting my own business had changed my perspective on a lot and knowing what I know now, I definitely will continue to strive for nothing but greatness! The Bawdy Shop Cosmetics will be a big Brand some day and to those who are unsure if they should or not, my only advice is to just START the rest will fall into place.

What should our readers know about your business?
The Bawdy Shop Cosmetics is a local online store bringing high quality products at a reasonable price. We strive to be a fast growing company and providing a customer centered shopping experience has always been our goal! We pride ourselves in our comprehensive policies that have put us in a realm above and beyond most competitors and we believe in passing along deeply discounted sale prices to our customers, typically saving them 30-50% off of retail costs. I’m super excited about where my business will be in the next few years, when I first started to even run a business I had NO clue on what I was doing, all I knew is that I wanted to become my own boss and I did that! Now we know Rome was not built in a day, all the sacrifices, the long nights, early mornings will be worth it all in the long run. Lessons that I’ve learned along the way was to be kind to yourself, not to beat yourself up if there is a failure, failures are going to happen but how you handle them matters. Don’t be so hard on yourself it’s going to get greater later and to just keep going. I came from the bottom literally! And I’m never going to give up because if you want success or greatness you have to go get it. The grind never stops.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Being as though I’m moving to Atlanta I would take them to Mrs. Hattie Mae’s over in college park, or The Juicy crab over in Fayetteville. I’m a foodie so if food is Involved we going to have a great time!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Yes! Most importantly my family and loved ones for supporting me. I would love to give a special shout out to Christiana Hurt of The Boss Palace for helping in educating me on starting a business and providing me with exceptional support and guidance. I also would love to give a special shout out to Crystal Glow Co if I had not stumbled across her page I would not have been able to serve the customers and friends today! Thank you for teaching me, and Thank you both for all that you do!
