We had the good fortune of connecting with Jalon Pero and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jalon, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
For me, taking risks plays a big factor in my career. With music it’s okay to always be open to change. I feel like it’s about how you execute it. My risks usually end up turning into something beautiful.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart initially from others is how I am able to show my versatility. I was raised listening to all kinds of music not just rap so I use elements of different genres in my songs. Also what sets me apart is my sound can’t be gimmicked, I’m not just putting out any regular trap/ hip hop music. I have some reggae stuff on the way, jazz, and more.
Lessons I’ve learned is that it’s okay to experiment. Living in Atlanta everybody makes the same type of music for the most part so bringing something different to the table is always going to turn heads.
As far as my artistry and my story, I just want the world to know that I’m here and I’m here forever.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Some of my favorite spots in the city would have to be Bartaco to eat, I love walking on the belt line, six flags is cool especially in October. Also I love hitting up the different record stores in the city to go crate digging.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The Kitboys Club that’s based in Atlanta. They deserve a big shoutout just for being very inspiring people. Wiz Kelly also deserves a shout out.
