We had the good fortune of connecting with Jacqueline Scandrett and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jacqueline, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Actually I never thought I would be an entrepreneur. The idea came from my annual Sip n Sleigh Christmas Party in 2019. I made treats for my guest & they loved them! They asked me to make some for purchase & I was elated. I self taught myself by watching various videos & trying numerous new things.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a Federal Employee & a full time mother of 2, Tyesha & Kaden. I’m also the owner & founder of Jac’s Tasty Treats LLC. I’m most excited at trying new things business wise. I like to experiment and create new treats & let my son Kaden test the them out. I aim to please & love when I get feedback from my customers!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my bestie was visiting for a week, we would go to Taco’s and Tequila for taco Tuesday, then head to The Smokehouse for R&B night. Of course we would drink Tito’s lemon drops all night long. Wednesday we would to to Tribeca for wine down Wednesday’s then head to The District for more mixing & mingling. Thursday we would go to Whisky Mistress for the live band & great food & lemon drops! Friday we would have dinner at Hal’s Steakhouse & club hop in the city. Saturday we would have brunch at A Toast on Lenox & Sunday brunch at Garden Parc.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I like to shoutout my family, mother, Danita who lends a helping hand when needed, sister, Yasmeen who has made numerous purchases & sent countless referrals , daughter, Tyesha, & my cousins who have supported my business from day 1! Also a special shoutout to my friends & customers who have been very supportive by making several purchases from Jac’s Tasty Treats LLC, it’s to many to name.
