Today we’re excited to be connecting with Jaaion Barnes again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.

Jaaion, we are so thrilled to be connecting again and can’t wait to hear about all the amazing things you have been up to. Before we jump into all of that, some of our readers might have missed our prior interview, so can you take a moment to reintroduce yourself?
Chef Jaaion Barnes. Native of Avondale, Louisiana. Former member of the Louisiana Air National Guard. Guest Speaker at the White House for their annual “White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities”. I am the creator and star of a cooking show titled “Culture & Culinary” currently airing on Fox Soul, a subsidiary of Fox Broadcasting Company.

To be totally honest, I am not too keen on the phrase “what sets you apart”, however, I am definitely focused on setting the best example of success for myself and others who strive to be the best version of themselves. I believe I have gotten to where I am currently at by perseverance, learning how to adjust then overcome, and executing a plan. Also by never backing down. Ever.

Awesome, so we reached out because we wanted to hear all about what you have been up to since we last connected.
I am currently in my second season of Culture & Culinary. While it has definitely been challenging learning the television business, it is also definitely rewarding to see your plans start to come to fruition.

We also want to give folks a chance to get to know you a bit better so we’ve prepared a fun lightning round of questions. Ready?

Life is often about tough choices – can you talk to us about your thought process, strategy or philosophy when it comes to making difficult choices or tradeoffs.
Life is all about investments. Whether it’s dating, business, friendships, etc, doesn’t matter. It all boils down to where we invest our time and resources. I make decisions based on the 1) the information I have at my disposal 2) the ROI I expect to receive from that decision and 3) how does this decision affect all parties involved.
