We had the good fortune of connecting with j Marie and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi j, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I pursued this career because of the reaction I see in others as they see my gifts in actions. There is so much joy in that alone. It also gives me so much peace. The release you get when you use your creative gifts is not comparable to other releases.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As a Host (On-Camera Personality) I am most proud of my ability to endure the journey and use what I have available to me now and making the best out of it. I am in love with hosting and being an on-camera personality. I take so much pride in doing it, so no job is too big or too small to me. I get to do what I love and I take it very seriously and honor those opportunities.

The reason I am where I am today professionally is because of maturity and gaining wisdom and understanding. I was not clear on what I was doing when I first started out over 10 years ago. I was just punching the wind. . . now, I am in a place where I move with intention and my expectations are different because of that. I expect to win and book because not only am I putting in the work when the cameras are off, but I also have learned from the past, so many lessons and I see others and learn from them as well.

The journey has challenges at every single level, the way I overcome is to keep going. I have no idea what will be next, but I have faith that I am doing exactly what I am supposed to be doing, so it all works out in the end.

I want the world to know that I love to make them laugh, think, believe and overcome. I am so happy to see people be who they were called to be. My brand is all about motivating and inspiring others to use all their gifts no matter how big or small they may THINK they are. Someone needs it. I want to pull that (their gifts and greatness) out of every person I come in contact with.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am allll about nature and sunsets. I like brunches and eating out, but the most important thing to me is the highest part of the city with the best view.

I want you to see the beauty of the creation. Then we can go to a Bruch or Day Party. That is is the turn-up for me!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Easy…this shoutout would be to Jesus and my mama! The good Lord keeps me and blessed me with these gifts and my mommy has been the best and most consistent supporter I could have ever asked for. My daddy would be my other biggest shoutout because from day 1 he always believed I could do anything. Rest In Peace daddy. . .
