We had the good fortune of connecting with Isiah Anderson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Isiah, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
Risk has played an integral part to the flow of my life. There have been several pivotal moments in my life where I risked my life comfortability, and status quo to pursue a goal, or dream. I believe a level of risk is necessary and comes with the territory when you are a business owner, or creative.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
my unique ability in the music industry has been to build upon one style within Dance Music called Hard Trap, and Hybrid Trap. In my career thus far, I have been able to showcase and bring many different genres and influences into the base sound and grow it from a style that was largely popular but often written off as the firecracker club or festival track, to a respected and intuitive art that is far more versatile than the industry would have it be in its first evolutions. The road is far from complete on this task and it is not easy. I am overcoming the challenges in this by continuing to grow as an artist technically and engross myself as a student of the game to improve my craft to a level that simply cannot be ignored in the upper echelon of the business, executives and fellow creators alike. Today I am now building out a new style that is setting me apart from the pack by taking my love for cinematic and orchestral music and fusing it with my now signature bass music concepts namely, “Cinematic Bass”. I intend this to be a culmination of my influence and groundwork to this point in all the music I have brought to the table. The inklings have been present from the start and I am glad to be able to now differentiate further and bear my own specific niche sound in the industry that I can then evolve and build upon rather than doing so with a sound that I instead pioneered secondhand, albeit in a way the forefathers did not achieve. Leaving my own art behind, I am pursuing a purpose bigger than myself in my passion for talking to, and teaching others about the creation and craft of music. I take pride in being able to use my knowledge and experience to guide and inform the future. On top of that, I leave my mark on the future by injecting my designs and direction into the hands of the youth and fellow creators by selling handcrafted sounds and samples that everyone can use in their own productions. Not only can the scene learn from and study these sounds, but they gain access to professional and truly useful assets to engage in their own crafts with no hidden motive, which is a good feeling that, at this time I struggle to put into words.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My best friend would know I’m not the person to show them the best time ever so id be off the hook. If I was on a long trip, id much prefer to lay back and stay low key where I’m staying, and at a slow pace, explore the surrounding community and culture by myself or with a trusted confidant. As far as places I find interesting or exciting, there are not many. I am not really amused by places or people in that way.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Wade Hampton. I owe my life as I know it today to my former mentor, business partner, and friend, Wade Hampton. Thank you for sticking with me and opening my eyes to what I could accomplish.
