Meet Ike Easterbrook | Traveller & Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ike Easterbrook and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ike, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
Risk. My relationship with it has been ever present. As for anyone, we all confront risks daily. I face small risks all the time—putting myself out there, reaching out to someone new, doing an interview with a local magazine—but the bigger ones have shaped me most. At 16, I travelled virtually solo in Central America for several months. It was terrifying, but it sparked my love for travel and gave me a sense of independence that still drives me today.
Since then, I’ve taken risks that go beyond comfort: traveling through countries during active war, getting detained in airports, falling sick in rural developing countries. Those experiences taught me to not shy away from dangerous things—but to trust preparation, instincts, and often people. Now, I try to treat the feeling of fear as a signal that I’m on the edge of something meaningful—because in my experience, what’s on the other side of fear is often growth, clarity, and the most rewarding moments of life.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a travel photographer and videographer who enjoys showcasing beautiful destinations, hotels, and unique experiences around the world. I like to feature both well-known spots and lesser-traveled, more adventurous places. One of my goals is to inspire others to explore new countries and connect with different cultures. I think maintaining genuine curiosity has helped keep me on track.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Atlanta has a lot to offer. If a friend was visiting for the week, I’d make sure we hit a few must-see spots—a Braves game, a show at the Fox Theatre, and a walk through Piedmont Park and on the Beltline.
For food, some of my favorites are a mano for great Italian, Xi’an Gourmet House for noodles, and Atwoods Pizza for a solid pie. Atlanta has a lot of great spots, but those are always easy wins!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The easy answer for me is my family—they’ve always supported me. But if I take it a step further, I’d also credit all the other creators out there who share their stories online. It’s provided a source of motivation and reminded me of the possibilities.
