We had the good fortune of connecting with Gerica Brogden and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Gerica, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I knew that I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit. My family is full of women that have owned multiple businesses for over 30 years. I also knew that I wanted to help people and be my own boss to be more present for my growing family. Purchasing the organizing franchise was the best approach for me, so that I could hit the ground running without recreating the wheel.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
After earning my MBA, I entered into the business and sales world for over 10 years and as I got older, realized that was not a good fit for me. I left corporate America to chart my own path and to help others simplify their lives. There is so much more to organizing than what people may perceive. We help people move, transition through different periods in their life, and in that process, we become their person. We love being able to be a support system to our clients through the relationships we build along the way. I am most excited to continue to help others live a more organized and practical lifestyle.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Living in Atlanta is amazing because it is such a melting pot of people with so many good restaurants. To ensure my guests had the best time ever I would take them to the Shops at Buckhead to shop and be sure to grab dinner at Storico Vino. We would definitely do a Sunday brunch at Ms. Icey’s Kitchen and Bar and walk along the Beltline and visit all of the restaurants there (especially Nina & Rafi). Another must see is the Georgia Aquarium and Ponce City Market where we would HAVE to eat at Bar Vegan. I would take them to Stone Mountain to work off all of the food, just to eat more later at dinner Serena Pastifico.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shoutout my parents and husband for always supporting me and letting me know that I always have them in my corner. My friends have also been a constant encouragement in this process and I am so thankful to them. I would also like to shoutout my mentor, Betsy Miller, for being so amazing and helpful to me on this journey and encouraging me to go for my dreams of entrepreneurship. My 2 daughters also deserve a shoutout because they inspire me every day to be the best woman and mother I can be, and someone they can truly look up to.
