We had the good fortune of connecting with Finesse The Producer and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Finesse The Producer, why did you pursue a creative career?
When I was younger, I used to always be on the computer just doing whatever, but in 2012, I came across FL Studio. I didn’t know much about it but around that same time, I had just found out about Speaker Knockerz too. Listening to him instantly gave me inspiration. The fact that he had his own unique sound w/ the beats he made and was recording catchy songs to them truly attracted me to build a career with music.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Getting to where I am today wasn’t difficult but took years of hard work, dedication, patience and consistency. However, when I say that, I’m not just speaking about making music. This includes learning the music business and that’s one thing I can say I’m most proud of, which I gravitated towards while attending The University of Alabama. Majoring in Business Management gave me the business mindset I needed to improve my brand and networking skills as well as learn how to trademark my alias name, receive different royalties, etc.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There isn’t too much to do in Tuscaloosa, AL for “a week long” trip. However, if it’s football season, a good Alabama football game would be the main event on the itinerary (including tailgating which brings out the hospitality in the environment). Around the game, I’d take them to “The Strip” (which is walking distance from Bryant Denny Stadium) to grab a bite to eat from one of many restaurants and enjoy some of the bars. Other than that, everything else is basically normal such as: going to the mall, laser tag, bowling, etc.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First off, I’d like to shoutout Jordan Williams (also known as JW.) for introducing me for this interview opportunity and just being a close, supportive friend that I’ve built a bond with. I’d like to shoutout my girlfriend, Akaieshia Sanders (also known as Kaisha) as well. She’s an RnB artist and even with the different things she has going on, she still finds time to support me. Other than them, I would like to shoutout my parents, family and close friends that see the value in what I’m doing and show support.
