We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr Belinda Sanders and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dr Belinda, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting Dear Future Husband was deeply personal and intentional. As someone who has navigated the complexities of love, relationships, and personal growth, I wanted to create a space where women, especially women of color, could feel empowered, supported, and inspired as they prepare for meaningful relationships and marriage.
I noticed a gap in the market for faith-based, culturally relevant resources that address the unique challenges women face in relationships. Dear Future Husband became a platform to not only share my own experiences but to help women break cycles, make better choices, and align their relationship goals with their faith and values.
At its core, the brand is about fostering self-love, spiritual growth, and intentional dating. I wanted to provide practical tools—through books, podcasts, retreats, and now even a reality show—to help women make informed decisions and avoid time-wasters, narcissists, or unhealthy relationship patterns.
This business isn’t just about relationships; it’s about transformation. It’s about building a community where women can feel heard, supported, and empowered to be the best version of themselves—whether single, dating, or preparing for marriage.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My work centers around empowering women, particularly women of color, to embrace their worth, navigate relationships with intention, and prepare for the love and life they truly deserve. Through Dear Future Husband, I’ve built a brand that includes books, retreats, a podcast, a reality show concept, and a thriving community. It’s all about equipping women with the tools, confidence, and mindset to avoid toxic relationships, focus on self-improvement, and align their goals with faith-based principles.
What sets me apart is the authenticity and intentionality I bring to everything I do. My story is deeply personal, and I share it openly to connect with and inspire others. I don’t just provide advice; I offer practical tools, like my books Girl, Get the Ring and 21 Days of Prayer: Dear Future Husband, to help women make informed decisions about love and life.
Getting to where I am today professionally was far from easy. I’ve faced significant challenges as a single mom, caregiver, and entrepreneur, all while navigating my own healing and personal growth. There were moments of doubt, setbacks, and learning curves, but I relied on my faith, resilience, and the belief that my story could help others.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that purpose comes through perseverance. Every challenge I’ve faced has shaped me into the person I am today. I’ve learned to trust God’s timing, to pivot when necessary, and to find strength in community and collaboration.
What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that Dear Future Husband is more than a business—it’s a movement. It’s a safe space for women to dream, heal, grow, and prepare for the future they desire. Whether it’s through my books, retreats, or media projects, my mission is to inspire women to know their worth, set standards, and embrace the process of becoming their best selves.
Ultimately, my journey is proof that with faith, hard work, and the right mindset, you can turn pain into purpose and create something that uplifts others while honoring yourself.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Absolutely! First and foremost, I want to give all the glory and recognition to God. None of this would be possible without His guidance, grace, and provision throughout my journey.
Secondly, my children have been my greatest motivation and source of strength. They inspire me daily to keep pushing forward and to create a legacy they can be proud of.
I also want to thank my friends and family, who have stood by me with unwavering support, love, and encouragement. Their belief in me has carried me through both the highs and the challenging moments.
A special shoutout goes to the Icing Agency, owned by the incredible Mz Skittlez. Their creativity, expertise, and dedication have been instrumental in helping me bring my vision to life and build my brand in ways I could have only dreamed of.
