Meet Dondi Springer | Urban Poetic, Digital creator, Poet, Author

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dondi Springer and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dondi, how do you think about risk?
I think about risk as you will win, or you will learn. In life everything has a level of risk tied to it especially these days, but you have to keep things in a positive perspective, and look at the lessons you learn from taking that risk. Ask yourself will it get me closer to where I am headed, and closer to where I want to be?
For me taking risk took me 1200 miles away from all I knew, and put me in places to thrive, and gave me room to grow as a person. No it has not always been in my favor, but I am favored, and continue to be blessed.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I call myself an urban poetic, because although I have a message of hope, having a vision, and moving forward. It still has that rough razor edge to it, mostly because I draw from a lot of life experiences, and well seasoned perspective. See I left home at 13, and I’m still around to talk about. The thing I’m most excited about is my 3rd place win in the last poetry contest for Lit Mag.
I also wrote my first e-book, “Can’t Stay Here/When Change is Necessary”, that I released independently, through link on my Instagram page (@napalmjax), and I’m finishing up a collective of verses I wrote over the last 2 years Called “Virus Verses”, due to all the down time from the pandemic, I had to think, and spill some ink. Pushing to have it finished up by September.
Look real talk, I wasn’t supposed to make it pass 18, I’m in my 40’s now, blessed, and favored yes I am.
At the end of the day though it just boils down to work, and how bad you want it.
I still work a full time job, and work on all my projects. Once I put a time frame on it, I want to be done a month ahead, and I’ll push for that.
Life isn’t easy for most of us, I just never give up, because I know one day will be the right day, and I refuse to die with a bag full of regret. That’s too heavy to carry even now…
One of the biggest lessons I had to learn was this, if you have an idea, write it down, don’t tell anyone, just get to work, and let things fall how they fall.
I say that because, even if it doesn’t work, you will learn so much more from the experience. That my friend is priceless…
As far as my Brand, and story…
It might take a minute to get to know me
Just know I-D-N-O-D is part of my ID.
Forward vision is always the mission,

I’m a motivator, all about personal growth, creativity, and mindset shifting.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Whoa, I got a whole list for this!!! First I want to thank my wife for urging me to follow through on entering a poetry contest hosted by our friend Yeciliah. That reignited my passion for writing, and being creative. Also I want to shout out Nick Saunders and the Deeper Than The Brand community for helping me hone in, and create a digital presence on social media. Last but not least I want to thank my momma for still being my rock all these years.
