Meet Destinee Franklin | Serial Entrepreneur, Hair Stylist, Caterer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Destinee Franklin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Destinee, what matters most to you?
Integrity is a value that matters most to me. Integrity is what makes you stand apart on a personal and professional level. It establishes a level of trust amongst your peers and colleagues. This value can take you further than any amount of money. I believe a business with integrity lasts longer than one that doesn’t include that in it’s principles.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My brand is centered around me and my personal attributes. I use all of my core values to mold my businesses and career. I specialize in braid extensions and natural styles. I’m also a caterer, where I use my passion for cooking and love for food. I am most proud of my creativeness which allows me to expand my business ventures and not be trapped inside one area of business. My business is where it is today because of perseverance, hard work, and my clients/customers. It wasn’t an easy journey and I know the future will not be easy but the reward makes it worth it. I overcome challenges by remaining faithful in Christ and the promises He’s made to me, remembering the goals at hand, and thinking about the people my businesses help along the way. I’ve learned to embrace change and challenges, don’t be discouraged by them and everyone’s process is different. I want the world to know that my brand is only at the beginning stages and it will be going global. I want to share my goals with the world and for everyone to know that it’s important for me to uplift the dismayed, bless others, and be an example to those watching!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Surprisingly, I am very reserved and I don’t go out a lot. I spend a lot of time with close family and friends. If my best friend came to visit, I’d plan something relaxing. We’d the week off with time to unload/ unpack and catch up. We’d have dinner and some wine. I’d plan for us to have massages and try a therapeutic activity like yoga, deep meditation or sound therapy. I love movies and music, so we’d go see a movie that’s new or visit our favorite artist at a show. I enjoy activities that are outside of the box and that would create distinctive memories, so we’d visit a glass blowing class and maybe try pottery. We would make our own custom dishes for our homes, with signature designs and colors. I’d also take a cooking class where we could learn new dishes to make, recipes to take home, and nutritional facts that could help benefit our overall health.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to Jesus Christ because without Him, I am nothing. My husband and children deserve recognition for helping me grow into the business woman I am, they encourage and remind me of my best qualities and potential. Thank you to all my supporters, clients/customers, and friends/family for their support along the way.
