We had the good fortune of connecting with Derrick Sinclair and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Derrick, what are you inspired by?
I’m inspired by the thought of black wealth, black empowerment and black unity. I want to help educate my people on credit, finance and other areas we lack knowledge in so that we can prosper both individually and collectively. Most importantly, I want to help people rebuild their credit so that they can achieve their life goals and reach financial freedom/independence

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I run a credit repair company, my focus is to help clients remove any accounts that may be negatively impacting their score while also coming up with a gameplan to help them raise and maintain a healthy score and report. I’m most excited about being able to help clients raise their score in order to close on a house, get that dream car, refinance that loan and get themselves out of the hole they were in and one step closer to financial freedom. It’s a great feeling knowing I can help someone achieve something so significant to them. It gives me a sense of purpose. I believe what sets me apart from others is my hands on approach and attention to detail. My clients can reach me via phone, text or social media and I interact and cater to their specific needs. I go over their report with them and come up with a gameplan that suits they’re situation. If they have a question that I may not have the answer for, I take the time out to do the research and get that answer for them. I want to make them feel how much I care. It’s not about the money to me, it’s about changing lives. I’ve learned to stay patient, running a business isn’t easy and has ups and downs but you just have to stay the course. I want to know that the Ground Up program and family is all about doing what’s best for whoever we cross paths with. This company was built to leave an everlasting mark on the world

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Great question, I’ll use my hometown of New York since that’s where I spent most of my years. To get that real NY feel I would have to take them on a train ride to the city just to walk around, shop and sightsee. I’m a sneakerhead so I’d take them to Flight Club, maybe a museum or two. We would have to go to Dallas bbq’s for some sticky wings and a Texas size frozen margarita (with an extra shot of course) we can visit Madison Square Garden, The Barclay’s Center, hit a local park to catch a basketball tournament in the summer. NY is a state like no other, you don’t have to go far to catch a vibe and have a good time

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There’s so many to name, from my friend who suggested I start a credit repair company, my business coach, my financial advisor, my family and loved ones giving me that encouragement and that extra boost when needed, my friends who support me, and me referrals and motivate me & every single Facebook friend and Instagram follower who engage and share my post. It’s the little things like that I pay close attention to and appreciate dearly. It takes a village
