We had the good fortune of connecting with Dasheel Ballard and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dasheel, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I always knew I wanted to start my own business but this time it was different in August 2023 I got in a bad car accident from that car accident I couldn’t work so I lost everything in that time I asked myself will I still trust God if everything is stripped from me and I said yes so I decided to fight and my brother told me I should do a podcast some years ago but I didn’t believe in myself but this time it was now or never, so what sparked it was wanting a better life for my 4 yr old daughter. I just knew I could do anything I put my mind too and I knew God had his hands on me

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have a podcast called Go and Grow Podcast, I’m set apart from other people because everything I do on my podcast is authentically me, I make it feel like home when I have interviewee’s on my podcast and we play a game and read a quick quote before. I’m most proud of the fact I just started no matter what I had or could get. To get to where I am God put me around the right people and it will continue to grow. The talking part is easy because I love to spread love and positivity. What I’ve learned along the way is to be patient, be yourself and speak your truth. I want the world to know I have a platform that allows people to be vulnerable,, say there story and know that it’s bigger than us. It’s a no judgement zone

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to cascade skating rink, I would take them to wello works it’s a place that you can prioritize your mental health, I would take them to mi yakos because it’s really slept on. We would go to the gym then go get a bite to eat at mi yakos, then go to cascade later that night, we would just find adventurous stuff we can do. I would just take them to explore at the waterfalls, nice restaurants, fun places that allow you to be a kid again.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shout first and foremost God and then my daughter but I would like to shoutout Bryant known as Instagram: @therealicantfindb.prate he has definitely been inspiring me he is a comedian
I want to shoutout my cousin Lena instagram: mwaniki.le she has believed in me and pushed even when my podcast was just a thought I love her so much I want to just say thank you. I would like to shout out Dj and Kev they literally have helped carry my vision and I would also like to shout out my cousin @kanu.doit she has prayed for me during this season and has just been there for every step of the way
