We had the good fortune of connecting with Corey Sherman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Corey, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I felt as if it was something different. It allowed me to get out of my comfort zone and express a different side of me that no one has seen. It has always been about sports for me and now that I have had to let that go. It is time to explore new endeavors and see how I can go against different challenges. I can meet new people, see other perspectives and various other things that I may not have thought about.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I think what sets me apart is possibly my physique. I am sure it can be fairly common but it is something I believe that helps me. I am former athlete so I love to be in shape. Being a 6’2 African American has benefitted in many ways. My height plays a huge role because it can make or break depending on what type of look the company is going. My skin color because chocolate is always good for the soul. It wasn’t easy at all. Some of the challenges I faced were changing my eating habits and staying in the gym consistently. Working every body part equally to stay proportioned. I think one main lesson I took away was just learning to stay dedicated. Even though your dreams don’t come true in other ways that you can still pursue and take on other dreams. Our world or society is limitless and you can do anything you want to as long as you work hard. Sounds cliche, but I believe it to be true.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There are plenty of things I could actually think of. I guess it would all depend on what they liked/disliked. Growing up in the northern part of georgia has opened up my eyes up to the country side. I know of some good hikes such as currahee mountain and the waterfall at my former college Toccoa Falls. North Georgia has some really nice views of the mountains with some good spots to eat like Spirit’s Tavern. They have amazing burgers. Moving more south towards the cumming/alpharetta area. There is a really nice outside mall that has recently been built called the Halcyon and something similar called the Avalon. Pretty nice places with many good food places. Too many to name. As far as things to do, I love Top golf, Dave n Busters to bowl. I just love anything to be competitive Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Jeremy Hershberg. He introduced me to modeling and how to be successful with it so I dedicate my journey so far to him.
