We had the good fortune of connecting with Ciarra Hosey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ciarra, how do you think about risk?
The bigger the risk the greater the reward! I believe risk are apart of life; we will find ourselves in areas of opportunity to either take a risk or play it safe. Safe is just that safe, comfortable but a risk always comes with a challenge, a sacrifice and if and when that risk is taken and the reward that will come come be something you never imagine… It could also get you one step closer to that goal!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a licensed Cosmetologist and a Wig Maker; some may not immediately associate art and creativity to my world but everything about hair screams creativity. There’s soo many categories under the umbrella. I chose Wig Making because it’s a start to finish finally customizable art piece that some woman, child or man can use daily to enhance their confidence in themselves. I want to not only service my beautiful clients who love changing their look up but also that young girl who suffers from alopecia. I dream of going to offering my services to cancer patients but your hair is important!

In 2020 I quit my full management job working for a very popular company that offered full benefits for myself and my family to start my own business. I Am She by Ciarra Jovan is a WOman’s self empowerment company that sells a mass assortment of items from Hair Bundles and Mink Lashes to also Appeal and Self care products on the surface but our mission is to empower and encourage the natural evolution of oneself!
My brand will be turn 2 at the end of March and if I had to reflect on the last two years, the biggest lesson I learned was if you don’t try, how would you know?! We will always run into challenges, there will always be a problem, that’s life but to live life on your terms is true satisfaction for me!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Atlanta is a place that you could never have enough time in the city to see everything it has to offer! I love food so I’m big on eating out when I can. Some of my favorite spots would be Bar Taco, Six Feet Under, Busy Bs and so much more! If you’re looking for fun try Bad Axe Throwing, Painted Duck or Puttshack for some group fun. Atlanta’s nightlife is something you shouldn’t miss; from bar hopping in buckhead to the many lounges across the city. Don’t forget to check out the street art around the city, my favorite place is Decatur street. I could go on for days.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shoutout my clients and friends! They believed in me long before I ever accepted the vision! They would always challenge my passion and my belief in myself. Because of them, I finally step out on faith.
