We had the good fortune of connecting with Chyna Monroee and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chyna, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
When things aren’t going your way you just have to sit back and think whether you want to be a boss or a worker and I was born to be a boss so if I’m failing at something it gives me that push to go 10x harder. There’s no such thing as giving up in my book!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The name of my business is “Monroees Fashion Closet” and I sell women apparel for now but I am planning on adding men collection in the future. I’ve wanted to be a business owner for a long time but I was scared to start one because of the small town that I come from. The people where I live at support who they want to support and that was one of the main reasons why I always procrastinated when it came down to starting my own business until one day I told myself if I always think like that then I’ll get nowhere in life and looking back I’m glad I stood on business because my business wouldn’t be where it’s at nor would I have the strong support system that I have today. I’m not going to lie and say that everything was peaches and cream because it wasn’t. I’ve had multiple challenges throughout my business to where I wanted to take a break but I kept pushing because I knew that there was an audience out there for me and turns out I was right. There were times where I was making a lot of money this week and the next week I was making nothing but that’s apart of the business industry and that’s what I signed up for so I brushed it up under the rug and kept going. Moral of the story is don’t ever let fear get in the way of your dreams and always know that most supporters are going to come from outside of your city and those are facts.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The first day that she arrive we would go to my favorite seafood spot in Atlanta called “The pirate’s boil”. Out of all of the seafood spots I’ve been to in Atlanta I would have to say that’s my #1 go to spot. After that we’ll definitely hang out at the trap house and then after we leave there we’ll more than likely go back to the house and relax until we find a bar to hit up later that night.

On the second day I’ll most definitely want to do something adventurous so I’ll take her to indoor skydiving. I’m afraid of heights but it’ll be a fun experience for the both of us. Next we’ll grab us a bite to eat at metro diner downtown ATL. After we leave there we’ll walk around downtown and check out a couple of stores as well.

On the third day it’ll be more of a chill day so we’ll go hang out at an art museum. We both love to learn new things and explore so it’ll be interesting. Once we leave there we’ll go to this brunch spot called “Atlanta breakfast club”. The food there is amazing! After we leave there we’ll visit this nature park called “Morningside Nature Preserve” just to get some fresh air and after that go home.

On the fourth day we’ll hangout at the aquarium and grab something to eat from there. When we leave the aquarium I’ll take her bowling. Bowling is one of our favorite games and we can get competitive! After we leave there we’ll go grab a drink at a bar and just mingle a little.

On the fifth day we’ll go get brunch and then head to this pole dance class. Although we’re beginners on the pole we love being around other people and having fun. Next we’ll go get a massage and get our nails and toes done. To end the day we’ll go to a reggae spot.

On the sixth day I’m taking her to this paint and sip class for a little girl time. Afterwards we’ll hit up the mall and go shopping for new wardrobe and we’ll grab a bite to eat out the mall as well. Once we leave there I’m taking her to the museum of illusions and when we leave there we’ll be going home.

On the last day we’re not doing nothing but resting.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would first off love to give a shout out to my manager T-Dawg Da Don for giving me this opportunity to be apart of the Cartel this amazing Cartel Cuties family and seeing that I have what it takes to be a star. Secondly I would like to thank my grandmother for raising me the way she did after my mom died. I thank god for her all the time because we come from a line of strong minded and independent women in our family so without her I wouldn’t be who I am today.
