We had the good fortune of connecting with Chrishaun Byrom and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chrishaun, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success has been my ability to learn new skills. When I started my business in 2009, I only thought about designing for print. It worked because I had lots of clients between myself and referrals from my family’s print business that need business cards and flyers. At that time, social media & Web 2.0 started to become popular.

My clients needed new ways to reach people and I started to design digital versions of the print media for them to share across Facebook & Twitter.

Pivoting also allowed me to help several popular fashion brands. In Photoshop, I created mock-up designs for the apparel & designed to specification using tech-kits fabricators provided.

As we speak I’m learning several programming languages and studying in Computer Science at Georgia State University.

Now that I don’t design many small projects anymore or print my current services (cameras, marketing, web) have extended dramatically since I first started back in 2009.

I chock it up to a passion for learning as well as earning! I look forward to providing Web3, cinema & 3D services to clients through my new company, Creative Business Media!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art for the past 10 years has been is a multidisciplinary collection of independent projects for clients and personal works of study from posters, music videos, photo shoots and music productions. I tend to see many parallels across mediums.

Joining the U.S. Marine Corps taught me how to win with the bare minimum and power i through until the job was done. That has become what sets me apart.

Drone photography has really become a staple in my work. I refocused my brand on vlogging and photography in 2019. Being station in Japan definitely motivated me. If I could do anything for a living, it would be travel photography and videography for hotels, travel agencies, airlines, etc. I could definitely document an entire trip.

I try to find objects and environments that are somewhat isolated from the foreground and background. This can illustrate a sense of scale and symmetry in composition. Color, tone, sharpness and luminance are factors that I’ve come to learn as well.

I found keys in balance in my compositions scrolling over many Instagram grids and studying cinema. Instead of thinking of the shots I couldn’t get because i wasn’t in a particular place, I took photos of the beauty around me ( Sand Diego County).

This was the ultimate freedom as it allowed me to make mistakes , learn and also feature some unrecognized or neglected places. In retiring from the military I brought this thought process with me back to Atlanta.

This is only the beginning of my journey. I will continue to fly, design and make music. But I have many more ventures I will start and products for develop innovate with.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
That’s easy. Cumberland/Vinings. It’s so cool and you know what to expect. You have Main Event, the mall, the entire Battery and all of the restaurants sprinkled in here and there.

What I really love are the parks, trails and paths that go through it. The Chattahoochee runs to the hills toward Buckhead and it’s a sight to see in spring when it all green! You can even go tubing in it!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shoutout, my sister & mentor Loreal Bell. We spent many nights in the lab in college doing homework, debated, breaking bread and making beats throughout the weeks. With her I learned to be my most efficient, how to really contemplate, think critically, hustle and bring crucial awareness to my art.
