We had the good fortune of connecting with CHEYÉNNE and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi CHEYÉNNE, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Pursuing music means I get to express a part of myself that would otherwise be muffled in a non-creative career. My creativity is important to me and I couldn’t see myself being happy with a life that doesn’t utilize it every day!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I describe my music as electronic/experimental pop with a cinematic and rock influence. I was vocally trained in classical music and technique in my early years and I survived off of films scores. These genres are still prevalent in my sound today as I still reference my roots but with a much harder punch.
It’s hard for me to stay in one box while writing. So my music tends to evolve throughout the song. There are so many directions I want my music to flow, but at the core I keep the energetic feeling. The slow rumble of power eventually evolves into an explosive track that develops the story.
What gets me really excited about this career path is how as an artist you can really reach through all human barriers and come together with music. It’s not an easy journey but each connection is worth it.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
L.A. has such a diverse population and with that you can find an array of amazing places to eat! One of my favorites is AJ’s Tex-Mex Barbecue. So delicious!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The love and encouragement of my parents got me started on this journey when I was young. So, shoutout to them for seeing me for I am and for ALWAYS seeing my potential!
