We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Walker-Spencer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittany, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
One my Favorite Biblical quotes that I use to encourage myself is James 2:26 which says “For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead”.

To me this means that one must truly do good work and have faith to receive God’s blessings , it does not matter what business venture you’re trying to purse you must WORK!!! and you must have FAITH!! in my opinion that’s what keeps your momentum going.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have always been a hardworker after finishing college with a Bachelors in Psychology, I went on to obtain my Masters degree in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling. One of my passions is the mental health field, that led me to start my non profit foundation. Still Hearts of Dior Monae Foundation is a 501 c3 organization whose mission is to educate and empower women who have suffered loss of child via Stillbirth, Miscarriage, IVF protocol, lack of medical attention due to incarceration and all other extreme circumstances. I enjoy sharing my testimony as well as my talents with people of all demographics.
However I am a jack of all trades and I have been blessed with many talents. I started Appleliciousbybrittanyandco during the pandemic, I wanted to do something that would bring not only myself joy but others as well so I took a candy apple class and realized I was a natural and that my treats were really good!!! I started marketing and selling my apples all around town and BOOM just like that Appleliciousbybrittanyandco took off!!!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am a Mexican food lover so I would definitely take them to Los Mariachis for food and amazing margaritas. Atlanta has so many hidden gems the beltline being one of them I love looking at the local art by various local artist. I also enjoy visiting Atlantic Station , they have a variation of different shops (some black owned) and restaurants.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have an amazing village of family and close friends who have always loved, supported, encouraged, and motivated me. My girls Laila and Leah are also a powerful driving force behind any and every new venture that I take on. I always want my girls to look at me and say that I am a mother that they are proud to have!!
