We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Bryant and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brittany, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success is my spirituality. Before I even began in my field, I had to first acknowledge what exactly it was that I wanted and next came how I was going to obtain it. Since then, everything else has fallen into place. I can honestly say that since I’ve been in the field of cosmetology, I have had a day where I’ve dreaded going to work. From that alone, I know that I love my career and can truthfully say that it is my passion.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My career is very exciting. I get to meet many women who range from as young five years of age to well into 90 years young. I’ve got the chance to watch the same young ladies who began getting serviced by me in elementary school to seeing them graduate high school and transition to college. Everyone becomes family.
What sets me apart from others is that I possessing empathy for each individual situation that may come my way. Since the beginning, I’ve made sure that I operated my business from a heart-centered place. What I am most proud of is one of the extensions of my business, Beauty Kween Boutique. I was nervous for long time about launching it until one day I just went for it.
I got where I am today because my mother has been a tremendous example to me. Since I’ve been in the cosmetology field, I’ve gained so much knowledge by simply observing her. She has successfully worked in the hair industry for 30+ years. My journey has honestly been very easy because I’ve always had her as a guide.
Lessons that I have learned along the way have been to listen with not only your ears, but with your heart. You can learn so much about each individual. You often hear that your hairdresser is so much like your therapist and I am here to confirm that that statement is completely true. I may not have the degree, but it doesn’t hurt to lend the best advice possible.
What I want the world to know about my story is that it is one that began with uncertainty and is currently one of growth and success. There are still times my newest idea(s) is bigger than my courage, but I still continue on with it to plant the seed and watch it blossom!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting the area, I would first take them to the hair salon and doll her up because when we hit the city, we must look amazing from head to toe. Some of my favorite places to eat and drink are Cielo Blue Mexican Cantina, Fletchers Restaurant & Bar and Breakfast at Barneys. I love the atmosphere of Ponce City Market and I adore the little shops around Little 5points. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to dedicate my shoutout to my mother Cynthia Bryant. When I graduated highschool in 2007, I honestly had no clue what college I wanted to attend or what I wanted to go to for. My mother encouraged me to go to school for cosmetology. I remember being absolutely annoyed with the thought initially. Days after graduating, I was sitting in my first day of class enrolled in Georgia Career Institute for Cosmetology and a year later, I had completed a year of instruction & I am now in my 11th year in the field.
