We had the good fortune of connecting with Briana Powell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Briana, why did you pursue a creative career?
I pursued a artistic career because I’ve always liked thinking outside of the box and creating things out of my perspective. Whether its modeling, acting or making music I love to bring life into whatever I do and see how people will react.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I believe in investing in yourself and getting the things you need for the craft you’re interested in. So I went out and bought a whole bunch of equipment and built my in home studio. I’m actually brand new to the producing/sound engineering game and I learned that it definitely takes time and patience to perfect. I’ve only made a couple beats and wrote a few songs off the dome so far, but I keep pushing no matter how difficult it becomes, because this is my passion. I hope to learn as much as I can on this journey and become a professional sound engineer as time progresses. I also model and act on the side. It’s more of a hobby than anything else, I love to become a different version of myself in those moments. I mostly do it to keep new content coming out for my socials and I also do it for my friends brands. I love to help out however I can plus its super fun!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would say the Interlock is a pretty cool spot to chill, listen to music and have some drinks with friends and the World of Coca Cola is a nice way to pass the time in atl if you like soda. Also theres Skyview if you like ferris wheels and a nice view. And if you like looking at art we also have the High Museum of Art. Atlanta is such a beautiful place honestly. I love it here!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I definitely want to give a huge shoutout to Read Lucas! He’s one of the dopest directors and photographers in the game and he’s always putting me on and keeping my instagram page looking fresh. Also want to give a shoutout to Daisha Peeks with her company @sumtin_styled which gave me more modeling opportunities and exposure and the fits are always fire.
