We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandon B and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brandon, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Owning a Tattoo Shop has always been a dream of mine. We spent over 5 years traveling the country, working with top artists, learning different techniques of tattooing, and making connections within the tattoo community. We felt that we had cultivated something unique that we wanted to share with the people we serve.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My wife and I formed Handsome Devil Tattoo in 2022. At the time, we had been traveling the country a lot doing guest spots at other shops and competing at tattoo conventions with a toddler and a baby on the way. I cut my teeth tattooing in a shop off of South Cobb Dr for about two years before opportunity came knocking which led me to Alabama. For a year, I was working alongside amazing artists that specialized in tattooing dark skin in color. You really have to be gentle on certain skin types or you can end up really hurting people and when it comes to art you don’t want to limit the possibilities of what you can do with your client’s vision, you need to learn to change your approach so the end result is something truly beautiful and as unique as the person wearing it. After learning so much about the different techniques and business practices we knew we couldn’t live on the road forever and that we needed to put down roots so we decided to go home. With everything we had learned along the way we knew that it was time to open our own shop and found a building that we thought would make a great tattoo shop but then the Georgia rains came. We were one day away from being inspected so we could finally open after months of non-stop work and our shop flooded damaging our floors and much more. It’s really heart breaking being that close to your dream only for it all to be washed away like that. We knew that we had to find a new shop so we could get open because the bills were piling up and we had two kids relying on us. We found a new building in a small town close by that was owned by a wonderful family that had been there for six generations. The rules and regulations vary from county to county so in this particular town we had to get a special permit from the City Council in order to begin the process of opening because of our industry. Three months, countless fees, and two council meetings later, we were told that we were not allowed to operate within the town limits as a tattoo shop. We ended up moving to Cobb County, GA and found a store front in Mableton, GA. Although we did not have to get a special permit to operate in this county, Mableton had just become a city so they were going through a major transition that would hold us up for another six months. We had to hit the road again to make money and we were working on the shop when we came back which was really hard on all of us. We finally made it and opened our doors for the first time on February 1, 2025. We are beyond excited to be able to not only thrive for ourselves but as a community. Nothing that is worth doing is ever easy. A lot of people would agree that being tattooed shows strength and perseverance which is a lot like our story. We specialize in realism/surrealism in both color and black&gray but we also bring in artists from around the world to collaborate with us and bring their unique talents to our Georgia clientele. I believe that tattooing and wrestling are the two things that make people come together and we need more of that I think.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Of course I would take my best friend to my shop first because the gold floors were done by myself and my wife (DIY videos make it look so easy but we worked really hard on them). The art that we have accumulated over the years is absolutely beautiful and we also have local artist’s work for sale in our lobby that is 100% the artist’s profit. It’s great to raise awareness in the community but also with your friends to support the art community. I would definitely take them to the Georgia Aquarium because it’s awesome and as many times as I’ve been I don’t think I’ve seen all of it yet. There are way too many great places to eat in Atlanta, Mableton, and Marietta but I think if I had to pick just one of my favorite restaurants it would be Old South BBQ on Windy Hill. Old South BBQ is also family owned and operated. Everything they make is delicious especially the Brunswick stew. If there was a Braves game I would absolutely take them there after. Then again, can we even fit the amount of cool stuff to do in Georgia in only one week? Probably not but that just means they’d have to keep coming.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have met amazing artists and people along my journey that I would like to recognize and thank for making me better. I want to first thank my wife, Adriana, for believing in me and helping me achieve my dream. I couldn’t do it without you babe! I would also like to thank my tag-team partner and long-time friend Solas Jansen. Solas’ techniques and artistry changed my perspective and approach to tattooing which shaped me into the artist I am today. I would like to thank Erick “Rock” Long for showing me more about the business in one year than I ever had in five years. Your wisdom and perseverance is inspiring and it encourages me to always be better than I was yesterday. Lastly but mostly I want to thank everyone that I have tattooed, without you guys we couldn’t make magic.
