We had the good fortune of connecting with Bala Pham and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bala, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My journey into photography and starting my business really began as a hobby. I was primarily self-taught, and my first paid part-time job was spent on buying a camera. From there, I would take pictures of anything and everything, from flowers and trees in parks to people on the street. Through photography, I started to see beauty in things that I hadn’t noticed before.

As I continued to develop my skills and share my work with others, I began to take portraits for friends and family, and before I knew it, more people were approaching me for my services. One day, I was asked to photograph a wedding, and that experience was a true turning point for me. The joy and satisfaction that I felt from capturing such a special moment for a couple was unlike anything else. It was then that I knew that wedding photography was my calling.

My thought process behind starting my business was really centered around my passion for photography and my desire to share that passion with others. I knew that I wanted to turn my hobby into a career, and I wanted to do it in a way that allowed me to capture and create lasting memories for people. Today, I am proud to say that I am living my dream, and I am grateful for the journey that led me to where I am today.

What should our readers know about your business?
As a fine art wedding photographer, what sets me apart from others is my aesthetic vision and my commitment to creativity. I have a great eye for detail and strive to capture the hidden beauty that is often overlooked during the rush of a wedding day. From small details to the emotions and mood of the day, I work hard to create timeless, romantic, and elegant images that are filled with emotion.

One of my strengths is my ability to listen to and care for my clients. I take the time to get to know their unique vision for their wedding day, and I work hard to ensure that their photographs reflect their personalities and style. I have received numerous compliments from previous clients about my attention to detail, my ability to provide specific directions for posing, and my organization of the timeline to ensure that no moment is missed.

Overall, I believe that my combination of aesthetic vision, creativity, attention to detail, and commitment to client satisfaction sets me apart as a fine art wedding photographer. I strive to create stunning and unique images that capture the essence of each couple’s love story, and I am honored to be a part of their special day.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to some of the best spots in town. We’d visit Ponce City Market, the High Museum of Art, and Georgia Aquarium. We’d also grab some boba teas and Asian food in Duluth.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family has been my unwavering support system throughout my journey. As someone from an Asian background, it was quite a challenge to convince the older generation about pursuing a career in art. However, unlike many other parents, my family fully trusted my abilities and supported me wholeheartedly. Not only did they support me, but my relatives also showed immense support.

Secondly, I would like to express my gratitude towards my clients for their continued trust and support in my wedding work. Their kind words and referrals have been the foundation of my success and have been instrumental in pushing my creativity to new heights.
