We had the good fortune of connecting with Asia Allen and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Asia, how do you think about risk?
I personally feel like risk taking is very important if you’re wanting to start your own business. Not even just that but with anything your wanting to do or accomplish in life, it won’t happen until you take that risk to do it. No matter how you feel about it the outcome could always be better and I know that taking risk has helped me accomplish a lot in my life. I left my $20/hr job to focus on my business and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. A lot of people thought I was crazy but I accomplished so much more after taking that risk. I’ve never been scared to take risk because I believe in manifestation and speaking things into existence. I know that I can make things happen.
What should our readers know about your business?
My business Kaori is a fashion brand that I created so that women can look & feel confident in any color. Kaori is all about vibrant and aesthetic colors. It consists of dresses, tops, pants, bags, glasses, and I’m always adding more products to make my customers happy. What sets me apart from others with my business is that I’m always looking for ways to make my customers happy because that’s what always comes first in running a successful in my opinion. Most businesses and brands don’t listen to their customers feedback and use it to better theirs and that’s something I try to always do because it’s professional and makes customers want to continue shopping because they know you care. I’m most excited about what the future holds and looking to collab with other brands in the future. I have my fall/winter collection dropping Nov 1st. It wasn’t really easy getting where I am today business wise, but it wasn’t really hard. I’m still constantly learning and progressing everyday. I just keep praying to God and tune out any bad vibes and energy. I learned a lot of lessons along the way, one is to not believe or take every offer that comes your way because it may look good. I lost a lot of money and time putting it into working with people and pages that ended up being scams and not worth it at all and I wish I would’ve known before I did it but you live and learn.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I currently stay in Orlando fl so if my best friend was visiting the area I’d probably take her shopping at the outlets one day, then we’d probably eat at The Licking or The Cheesecake Factory. I’m not from here so I don’t know too many places but off the top of my head that’s probably what I would do. In Orlando of course the most exciting things to check out here are the attractions, & there’s a few choices to pick from.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to shoutout my parents for making me into the person that I am. My dad especially for the talks he sat down and had with me growing up. I wouldn’t have all the wisdom and knowledge that I have if it wasn’t for my that man, my mom too of course but I was a daddy’s girl. I looked up to him a lot as a child especially with him being a pastor as well.
