We had the good fortune of connecting with Artsley and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Artsley, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The thought process behind quitting my job was simply, God. I was broke but no matter how much money I had, I wanted to gift something for my mom on Mother’s Day. On Mother’s Day I went to my local family dollar and looked around for something random. I Couldn’t find anything I’d think she’d like so I picked a few cool things such as marbles , an elephant statue and some vase fillers and made her something myself. I made it in the parking lot and drove to her home, and when I gave it to her, it was her reaction and following question of “Where did you buy this? It’s beautiful” that struck a nerve!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I believe what sets me apart from others is that, I strive on being completely original and using my brain power to create freesstyled in the moment pieces. What I’m most excited about is, the future of my business and where’d it will go. I have a plan from A-Z. The lessons I’ve learned throughout the almost three years of business is my worth. I used to lower my prices to fit someone else’s pocket to make a sale and actually celebrated that. Now I set my price and that’s that, I do still offer deals for new customers and my repeat offenders! I want the world to know that I want to create the vibe, one home at a time and it’s our pleasure to be apart of building a vibe for their temporary or forever home!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love Mexican food! So if she’s down that’s where we going! I’d love to take her to a few museums, art shows and site see around the city ! Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Originally my mom, if it wasn’t for me wanting to gift her, there wouldn’t be an decor business. But ultimately myself. Me putting for the effort to try, fail and not give up and keep going is why I’m still here today.
