We had the good fortune of connecting with Arie Walters and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Arie, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
I want my legacy to be that I was a light in the world that shined on others to help them find and evolve their true selves. In turn, help them to be their own shining light. When I reflect, I realize that the moments I am happiest are when I am assisting and educating people. I enjoy planting seeds of positivity in people’s lives. I genuinely feel that giving someone a better, more positive mindset or outlook is worth more than any physical present money can purchase. Because changing your way of thinking affects your entire existence. Everything you do or gain in this physical world begins with a single thought. I’d consider myself successful if I could be remembered as someone who helped even one person improve their life.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As an entrepreneur, my personal brand is most important to me as it’s the foundation of all that I create. I am a star as big as the sun and I use my rays of light to uplight others. This is the inspiration behind all my work is associated with the name “6Star”. To be 6Star is to be in your own category and to take up your own space. It does not mean to be better than anyone. It is simply to be different, one-of-a-kind, and to fully embrace that. A major challenge I faced is having severe social anxiety accompanied with being easily overwhelmed, but my dreams are bigger than that. I know that you have to take yourself out of your comfort zone in order to thrive. I think that what really helped me the most was that when I first came to Atlanta, is that I was not only excited but determined to experience new things and people. My love for learning and people outweighed any fears I had. A big lesson I’ve learned along the way is to stay grounded. It’s very easy to get caught up in life, especially when you’re always busy and things are happening so fast. You have to remind yourself of your goals and prioritize. Ask yourself, “Is this bringing me closer to my dream self?”. I want the world to know that I aspire to learn and expand my skills indefinitely. Being authentic, kind and mindful are three big values or me that have carried me throughout my journey. I love and appreciate all that have supported me and all that haven’t, because both encouraged me to look inside myself and evolve.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There is soo much to do in Georgia, especially in Atlanta, which is my favorite thing about the state. Without a doubt, I would make sure that we went to the Six Flags, Top Golf, the Aquarium, and the Botanical Gardens. I’d want to take them to my favorite park, Rodney Cook Park because I enjoy being outside and enjoying the breathtaking view there. Raising Canes, Pasta Bella (I love pasta), the Marietta Diner, and Rreal Tacos are all places we’d visit when they’re hungry. These are fantastic restaurants that I would like them to try. particularly if they are from up north in New York, where many of these are unknown to us. I have the honor of attending Clark Atlanta University, so I wouldn’t send them back without first giving them a tour of the illustrious institution. I would never want them to go out and experience the nightlife. The nights in Atlanta are vibrant. I’m fortunate to have ties and a community that have developed into a family. There’s nothing better than getting together, relaxing and unwinding with your friends after a demanding day, no matter what it may have involved.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to dedicate this shoutout to my mother, who has stood by my side through thick and thin. She has always found a way to make it happen for our family, and she is the source of my perseverance. She is such an incredible woman, and I am grateful to have her as a mother. My mom is also a significant reason I opted to go to college, and I wouldn’t be here or accomplishing all this without her, so a special shoutout to her. I’d also like to thank everyone in my inner circle for constantly pouring into me and helping me grow into the lady I’ve always aspired to be.
