We had the good fortune of connecting with Andre Trimmings and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Andre, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I personally feel that risk is necessary in everything we do in life. I took a risk in relocating for college which introduced me to many of the people I partner with now. I took a risk in moving across the county, which helped lead me to the idea to create Divine Timing Watches. To me, every time I took a risk I either advanced myself or I learned a lesson that I could use to keep moving forward in a smarter way. Risk is always going to be a part of life, taking some time to plan and executing that plan helps make the risk seem smaller every time. Plan you work then work your plan.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
By day I work in Logistics, ensuring customers products are properly shipped from its origin country to the customers front door. This job definitely helped me to see what I do on a much larger scale. I learned how to better prep for delays when it comes to holiday closures in each country. I gained an understanding for the complex problems to one can run into when it comes to receiving your products and the issues that can arise when getting one delivered. This job is an amazing one to have for the season of life I’m in, not only can I provide for my family, but I can learn on the job how to be a better decision maker when it comes to my personal business. This can help me bypass growing pains most people will experience as they look to grow a business. This level of professionalism and determination are a part of what each timepiece with Divine Timing Watches represents. The ability to write your own story, make your own moves and know that they will all work out in Divine Timing, that’s what I’ve learned with this job over time and applied it to the very meaning of my company.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
While Austin Texas is in no way Atlanta Georgia, I feel it has some amazing places to see and enjoy. Texas is hot every summer, hot almost all year round, so something everyone would love to do is cool off. The Barton Springs Pool is a recreational outdoor pool open to the public but get in the water slow because its cold!! If you are a looking to shop, walk around and enjoy your day then I would recommend the Domain. Here they have a mix of your high-end stores like YSL and LV but also shops sporting goods stores. There is also a large array of restaurants to sit and eat at. This place also has a strip of bars to stop in at to enjoy an afternoon or go to for a fun night out. Downtown Austin has so much to offer from trails to tourist places like the state capital building. Rainey Street is also a fun little area to hang out in. During the last economic downturn, the houses on that street were purchased, gutted and turned into bars. It’s an interesting area to hang out in on any day of the week. One place on our to do list is the Kalahari Resort. This is an enclosed water park resort out here that is family friendly with a lot to do for everyone in a family. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone, even if you’re just showing up for the salsa lessons

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shout out would go to so many people along the way! Thank Yah for providing me with the opportunity to share my thoughts and prayers with the world through Divine Timing Watches. This definitely feels like my mission in life and I’m happy to be walking in my path. My mentor Mr. Eugene Williams for seeing potential in me to be a leader not only in my own life but the lives of others around me. He kept in leadership situations mentoring at different schools in my hometown to help build that mindset and characteristic in myself. Thank you to great friends that support me and help push me along the way like Shena Crawford. She has definitely been one of those friends who speak life into my plans for my business and looks for ways to help regularly. Thank my mom for continually encouraging me to never give up on my dreams and pushing me to dream bigger. My biggest shout out is to my baby girl Yahara for smiling at me every day, providing that love and support I need to keep growing this business to provide for her!
