We had the good fortune of connecting with Amaria Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amaria, looking back, what do you think was the most difficult decision you’ve had to make?
The most difficult decision I’ve made was to step away from my 9-to-5 job entirely and take a leap of faith to pursue running my business full-time.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I think what sets me apart from others in this industry is the creativeness and understanding . I try to be very understanding with my clients especially my younger clients because that was once . I’ve only been doing nails for a year and i feel like i’ve came far . From doing baddies cast members nails or just even being recognized by well-known people. It wasn’t easy though from putting my name out there to pushing content . It has taught me to be comfortable with networking with strangers you never know who knows who .Its not always easy though from no call no shows to a slow week . It can be very discouraging but it teaches me to always keep faith . This is just the beginning and you will be seeing my name more .
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
A place that’s a vibe for eating and drinking i would definitely recommend MadHouse ! It’s a vibe and very affordable. For dinner i would say Either Nobu if you want to feel fancy or Restaurant 10 a hidden gem. For a club scenery i say Opium .Nature girlies should definitely check out The Bamboo Forrest .
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My deceased loved ones Trey and Fro . My boyfriend and family
