Meet Amanda James | Owner of The JG Clothing LLC

We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda James and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amanda, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I chose a creative career, because it allows me to express myself in ways that I can’t really explain in words. When I’m creating different designs for my clothing brand The JG Clothing LLC it just feels good, most of the time I get lost in the process, thinking about the colors, fonts, designs and where to place them. It’s like having a Second Breath, it’s amazingly refreshing. Being able to be creative keep me out of trouble in a lot of ways, because it keeps me busy. Being able to take one article of clothing and sew it to another and create a whole new look was my thing. I’m very grateful to God for giving me that type of vision and gift. I love vibrancy, colors, fashion, fabric, I call it ” THE ART OF CLOTHING”. I feel like if I can start on a design, finish it, and be proud of it I can do anything.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
First, I want to say to others if you believe in yourself proceed with your vision visibly. It’s not easy starting something when you don’t know the outcome, but try anyway.

I started The JG Clothing LLC, because creating different, but stylish things has always been my passion. I LOVE IT! It has not been easy for me, but I believe in my GOD Given gifts, so me persevering, has never been a doubt. I also started my brand because another one of my passions is to inspire others to pursue happiness, to never give up on themselves, and to be an example of hope for others. I want people from different backgrounds to know there are no such things called blocks, if you hurdle. Push, be motivated, be inspired, and be determined to fulfill and stand in your purpose, no matter who says otherwise. I also, wanted to create clothing that carried positivity, that’s why everything I design has something uplifting attached to it. As the owner of The JG Clothing LLC I exude good morals, love, and peace, so that’s what’s attached to everything that I create, and I’m Always Creating Something New Just For You.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
OMG, I love food and different types of food, so finding great places to eat, Outdoor activities, hiking, bowling, dancing would be a great time for me. I love being with people I love and Who loves me, but I love being home so, having a place where I can enjoy time with my family and friends and everyone feels safe and comfortable is the best, to me.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My motivation to keep going is God, my children and my grandchildren. I want to exude the definition of resilience, confidence, hope, and faith, So that they can have a solid example of these things. I say all the time that my children has helped me out of spaces that they didn’t even know they helped me out of. Having my children by my side is very important to me, because before anything I am Mommy first. I can’t give up, because if I give up on me, I feel like I’m giving up on them.
