Meet Alexzandria Moone | Substance Abuse Counselor & Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexzandria Moone and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alexzandria, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success/ Zzz’s Sleepwear would be God first always, the support I have had from my mother and my son. I would have never thought I would be the first out of my circle to have a child first, especially while being a sophomore in college. It was incredibly challenging being a full-time single mom, working 2 jobs, as well as being in school full time. However, I seen it through and graduated college August 2019 from Florida Agriculture and Mechanical University (FAMU). I knew that my motivation behind it all was my son. He made me a better person! I knew from the moment I had him everything I did/done and will continue to do would be for him. He is my why! He is the reason I have the drive to be successful and humble with everything I do because I know I have someone that is looking up to me, and failure is not an option.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a mother to a handsome 4-year-old first, a Substance Abuse Counselor and an upcoming entrepreneur. Zzz’s sleepwear was birthed from an idea to ensure inclusiveness for all miracles of life (children). My innate passion is for each child to understand that they are limitless, and our pieces reflect a blank state for every child to color. We believe in merging fun with style. I am also immensely passionate about assisting others with their difficulties! It is extremely rewarding when you can walk away from a person knowing that you have helped them or gave them the tools and knowledge that they will be able to utilize one day. My dedication and perseverance through overcoming personal adversities while managing a difficult work-life balance while having a toddler and juggling academic obligations along with other requirements. However, it was not easy, yet I always rose to the challenge and excelled in accomplishing all the tasks while acquiring my degree. My drive to accomplish all of this is what sets me apart from others. I am where I am at professionally by putting God first with everything I do, a lot of networking, and having a dedicated support system. I want the word to know that whatever you want to achieve in life never give up on those dreams because what is for you will be for you! So, remain humble, dedicated, and watch how everything unfolds.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting the area, I would take her somewhere with good music, vibes, and drinks, that is my go-to! I really enjoy r&b lounges, karaoke nights, a nice rooftop with happy hour, a candle making class or cooking class, and check out a few wine tastings here and there. For food, any hibachi spot because that is my favorite place to eat and then my second option would be somewhere that has good wings, steak, or seafood and oh let us not forget a day party with brunch but, light on the juice when pouring my mimosa! I’m very adventurous so I’m willing to try new things down or just go where the wind blows. Unplanned trips are the best but overall, just living your best life wherever you go.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shoutout to my village which includes my mother, (Jevette Moone), Sisters (Yolanda, Ajsa, and Aeisha), my friends (they know who they are) lol. My mentors (Tricia Edmonds & Marquise Mcmiller), The Kool Mom Inc and my program director (Mikita Milner- Hollis). I’m so grateful that each and everyone of them has been a pivotal part of my journey.
