How do you think about work-life balance?

By far the most common conversation we have with the folks we interview is about work-life balance. Starting a business or pursuing a creative career makes finding work life balance really tough because there is no clear start and end to one’s work day. We’ve shared some of our conversations on the topic below.
I am an entrepreneur and I still work a 9-5. Balance for me is key because I have to be fully functioning to make both work. I have to show up each day to better my business. My work-life balance has shifted from one extreme to the other. In my previous career, I was a high school band director for seven and a half years. The lifestyle in that field is one of the toughest out there. I was working 60+ hours a week year round on top of a 2 hour commute every day.
