Our show exists to give voice to those who are doing great work who may not be getting the recognition they deserve. We have given several artists their first interviews to allow them a platform to showcase themselves and their talents. We also provide radio play for up and coming musicians. We take pride in giving people a place where they can express themselves and promote their music, art, business, etc. We also partner with several other podcasts and collaborate with them on what we call “Bring A Friend Night” where they come and guest host for the night providing more exposure and promotion for them as well. In addition we are partners with a few PR companies who share their artists music as well as making them available for interviews which benefits the artists by giving them more places to be seen and heard and it helps us spread the word. It gives our show a sense of purpose that we exist to help good people pursue their dreams. Read more>>

We are a species that thrives on community! When that element of comradery and support is absent, we feel it deeply, like a piece of us is missing. And if ever there was a need for community, it’s now! In today’s world of digital screen interviews, Zoom calls and self-tapes, many of us are seeking the answer to WHO we are to each other, HOW we best fit in to the collective, and WHAT our unique talents and gifts are so we can be celebrated in our most authentic form. Yet, in all the noise of the Who’s, the How’s, and the What’s, we often neglect the most important part of what makes a community in the first place, and that’s the WHY. Read more>>

I started my business because I don’t want to see little gem food spots die out. My goal is to preserve and promote. Culture and community is our priority. We started Eat the Works Louisiana in 2023 with the goal of helping to service the community of small business restaurant owners in Louisiana. I was initially inspired during the pandemic by Barstool Sports’ CEO Dave Portnoy with his quest to help small business restaurant owners in need. I have been a creative all my life and I wanted to use my creative energy to focus on what I really love: going out to eat. And New Orleans especially, has a vibrant and thriving pop-up scene since the pandemic with many bars leasing out kitchens to hold their pop-ups. This was a phenomena! I started to notice a variety of amazing pop-ups every day at my bartender brothers’ bar – Pal’s Lounge. Instagram was the main platform for most of these pop-ups and I started a new IG for my own personal food reviews the name hit me like a lightbulb “HealthyAndFantastic” (or HAF- which was the initial name for my page in 2020). My business today ETWLA services the Louisiana foodie pop-up scene/community by providing pro-bono high quality videography and video editing – content marketing and advertising to try and trigger a viral video to transform their business. Eat The Works Louisiana serves as a blueprint for small business to navigate the new “tiktokified” social media landscape. Read more>>

Black Girls Need Love is dedicated to acknowledging the mental + emotional needs of black women, and their communities. I made the decision to create BGNL after a series of traumatic experiences that left me feeling isolated, misunderstood, and ultimately like my existence was a burden instead of a blessing. Although unfortunate, this experience helped me to realize that I was lacking a little bit of love from my community, and lacking a lot of love from myself. I believe that love is an integral part of our being. It is extremely necessary for each of us to have a source of love in our lives, in order to healthily navigate this human experience. As Black Women, that need often goes overlooked. We’re so busy being resilient that we forget to take the time to love ourselves & those around us. Once we skip out on love we begin to neglect our other needs as well, and the rest of the world follows suit. The BGNL Movement is meant to remind black girls the value of acknowledging their own needs. It is meant to encourage them, and the rest of our surrounding communities, to honor those needs after first ackwolegding them. That acknowledgment begins with love. BGNL was created with the intention to provide a community that will support black girls seeking healing, as well as to destigmatize the acknowledgment of mental + emotional wellness in the black community, by initiating mindful conversations. When I started my business, my goal was to help as many young women as I could that were in the same shoes that I was once in – insecure about my body, lacking confidence, and evolving from a community and culture that was mostly ill-educated on health and nutrition. I’ve had a muscular frame since I was a little girl because I’ve been an athlete my entire life, but I was always teased for it. I looked very different from the average pre-teen, and during that time, all I wanted more than anything was to fit in. For years, I internalized being called the “buff” girl as being “boyish” or “manly”, which in turn caused me to be extremely insecure about my body. As a result of this and other environmental factors, I also suffered from anxiety & depression, which I was unaware of at the time. Read more>>
