I came across this quote at the beginning of my creative career as a freelance graphic designer. It stuck with me as a reminder that I have the ability to create the life I desire using the gifts I’ve been given. Everything I need is within me to manifest my deepest desires. I am reminded that with anything I do, I must first put myself there mentally and then align my actions with that belief. It is a simple concept, however, the application can be challenging. Reflecting on this quote now, I can see how far I’ve come as an artist and woman. I’m reminded to walk in my unique light and claim this space without fear. Read more>>
My favorite quote by far is “We don’t make mistakes, just happy little accidents” by Bob Ross. This quote has stuck with me since forever. To me it means that no matter what decisions you make, you keep going and succeed. It means to never let anything or anyone put you down. Continue to advance and continue to be your own self. Anything that gets in your way is just a little thing to go over. Read more>>
A famous quote that I love by an unknown author reads, “accept what is, let go of what was, and have faith in what will be.” I love this quote because I think everything happens for a reason, when something is meant to be for me it will be and anything that doesn’t align with that won’t. This quote is a reminder to continue to move forward even when it may seem hard because I know that something better is waiting for me. Makaila (MK): Similar to what Amayah said, I feel as though I have mastered the art of avoiding disappointment. As a child, I would get overly emotional when things didn’t go my way. Years ago, someone said to me, “remember, what is for you will be for you” and it has been something that I’ve never forgotten. This is now something I live by. When things don’t go how I would have liked them to, I don’t get upset because I truly believe that things happen exactly how they’re supposed to. Read more>>

My favorite affirmation is a scripture that I use as a tag reference involving The Birthing Room LLC and it comes from Isaiah 66:9. It says “I will not cause pain without allowing something new to be born.” It means that often times in life we struggle, and go through adversities that may me challenging. Our circumstances may ultimately cause hurt and pain, but just like a mother giving birth to a child. The pain, agony, and discomfort that those labor pains may cause is to no avail once she holds her new born baby in her hands. The beauty of the new creation is a reminder that those months of carrying weight, being uncomfortable, and the hours of labor pain was all worth it. I love how this scripture gives us affirmation that even though we may go through some difficult times, that it’s all for a reason. That God is only trying to birth something new out of us. “Make Your Visions Visible.” it came to me in 2018 while in the process of starting my business. I was active duty stationed overseas at the time and experiencing different life changes and acknowledging some hurt as well. The vision I had was so big and such a shock to myself I couldn’t find all the words to explain it, so I had to make it visible. This quote means to me to follow your visions even when others can’t see it with you, you know what it looks like so make it visible for others to see as well. Get started and make it happen is how I would sum that up. Read more>>
