Do quitters sometimes prosper?

If not giving up was always the right answer life would be so easy. History shows us that sometimes quitters prosper and sometimes they miss out. Knowing when to quit and when to keep going is one of the most difficult questions and so we asked folks we admire to tell us how they think through this question.

Giving up is not an option for me. Since I was a young boy I have witnessed my mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and others in my family find the strength to keep fighting. To keep going. I was born into survival and handed the weapon of perseverance at an early age. I don’t know how to give up. Even in the times where I want to give up there is this driving force on the inside of me that just won’t let me quit. I was born and raised in the church and there is a scripture that says when I desire to do good evil is always present. For me, this is a very interesting question. There are many people in this world who say, “Never give up. One day you will become the person you want to be.” But there are also many people who emphasize that talent is an important part of success. If you’re not born to do something, forcing your way through it is likely to fail miserably. I’ve been thinking about these options, moving forward or backward. Although now I feel vague too. I think we all go through our unmotivated spells. But what keeps me going is knowing that people look up to me. I have an opportunity to inspire. It’s a surreal experience when someone comes up to me and says they’ve been following my progress and how proud they are. A girl that grew up with came to me recently and said “ l started my business cause i saw you do it. I feel if you can do it I can too.” Money is a plus but to me that’s what matters. Read more>>

It’s a feeling that you just get in your heart when you’re torn between giving up or continuing on. My mindset is that no matter how much you fail, the day you decide to give up could’ve been the day you had your big break. Even when your heart tells you to give up, it’s never really actually giving up its just you turning your energy to a new calling and your current one has just ran its course in your life. Giving up is not an option for a strong independent women like myself. Running a business is alot, so some days I feel so overwhelmed, that I feel like giving up might be my only option, but I push through it every single time. Listening to motivational speeches daily has become something that has helped me along the way.
