Meet Jarvis “JBo” Hamilton | Owner of Black Love By JBo

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jarvis “JBo” Hamilton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jarvis “JBo”, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor of my success is the fact that I live the brand. Black Love By JBo isn’t just a saying. I express love, and go out my way to show love to the whole community. When people think of me, that’s exactly what they see. Not only me, but my wife also. We are the brand. Also, we make sure we keep it that way. I do panel discussions, and talk shows, and seminars on black love, just to keep that in the forefront! This works suffers if we don’t love ourselves, and everybody else.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m different because I truly care. I’m not saying others don’t, but I wear it in my sleeves. I started as an idea for myself, just wearing different positive shirts, and it grew from there. My biggest lesson that I’ve learned is to make sure I do everything I can to keep customers happy, and to go out my way to do what I say. I want the whole world to know that every item on the Black Love By JBo line is made with love, and hopes that we reach extreme pride and ownership in loving ourselves and each other.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Come to my city, and we’re going to the Suite. We might go to Circa. We’ll go to Phenix Flame. I’ll take them by Overflo Barber and Beauty in midtown.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I gotta shoutout my wife. Without her, the success doesn’t happen. Without her, I can’t be me. She handles a lot of stuff, just so I can be me. If it’s anybody who deserves extr credit, it’s her.
