We had the good fortune of connecting with Jerrika Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jerrika, what do you attribute your success to?
The most crucial factor behind the success of my brand has to be FAILURE! I know it may sound crazy, but my failures have made me successful. Within my coaching business, I can teach my clients sure success through my trials and tribulations. I use these strategies because I embrace every hiccup that I’ve experienced along my journey. Failure has taught me how to be practical, successful, disciplined, and persistent. If you haven’t experienced some level of disruption in your business, you will never experience true success.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am the CEO of the Browns Agency TM; we are a full-service business consulting agency dedicated to assisting small business owners with growth and development through coaching and providing resources to prompt correct business practices and healthy money-making habits.

What sets the Browns Agency apart is our unique strategies for business management, daily business operations, and real-life experiences. We teach our clients the best business practices in their respective industries to increase their profits and minimize their expenses. We are proud of our current and former client success rate and the business books we provide to all new and aspiring entrepreneurs.

How did you get to where you are today business-wise. Was it easy?
In life, I’ve learned that nothing worth having is easily obtained, but when you’re walking in your passion and purpose, it’s worth it! I got to where I am today by taking every opportunity presented before me, and more importantly, creating my opportunities when they weren’t readily available.

I overcame challenges by not giving up. When there was an issue, failure, or problem i couldn’t figure out, I would research and educate myself until I found a solution. I never allowed the challenges I faced to get the best of me. It may take some time, but persistence can and will pay off!
I want the world to know that your dreams only become a reality when you apply action to them. Yes, starting something new is scary; however, if you’re not afraid of your goals, then you are not heading in the right direction. If I let my fears get the best of me, I wouldn’t be who I am today, living out my dreams. I did it, and you can do it too!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First, we would have to go to Habanos Cigar Lounge to relax and unwind I just love that place. Next, we will go Souf Side Cafe when it was open. Where ever the Red Sample Band is playing in the city we would have to go for some live music action. I would take him to the Trap Museum, downtown to ride the Ferris Wheel. I would take him to No Mas! Cantina for an amazing drink and our favorite Mexican dish! Of course, Cascades for us to skate and the Underground for him to see and possibly shop. Six flags over Atlanta to have a day of fun.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Throughout my journey, this set of people helped to shape the woman I am in business today! My first cousin Keisha Washington, my aunt Mrs.Tiffany Walker, my second mother, Mrs. Renita Wilbon, and the program director at the Central Arkansas Library System, Karen F. Guthrie, and my forever friend Donald Lee Brown Jr.
