We had the good fortune of connecting with Samone Holt and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Samone, what inspires you?
I am inspired by many things like cartoons, artists and music, everyday adventure and things in that nature. I take everyday as a new opportunity to learn something new and grow whether it be on a random lunch trip somewhere with my friends/family or if I’m traveling getting ideas from different cities and cultures. I am inspired by the small things in life because we tend to take for granted the small daily things. I want to seize every opportunity that I am blessed with and use that in my art in some form or fashion. Whether I am redesigning something I saw on Instagram or using nature as my guide to my next creative project, I am always looking for inspiration and I hope to inspire others along my journey and help me grow as an artist/designer/creator. It’s not only the big famous people who inspire us, sometimes its the workers that we see grinding on the daily in the middle of a pandemic. Its people pushing their limits every day that inspire me and I want to be one of those people to others. I have been told “no” so many times that now I don’t ever take no for an answer. I stand my ground but also move as I am told, and I am always looking for creative projects to keep me going.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is very versatile. I try to go by my own rules when creating because I feel like my vision was given to me to express to others. I’ve noticed that I work so well alone, I’d much rather work on something in private so that I’m able to put my all into and present it to everyone when it’s time. I’m most proud of the fact that everything Mo’s Crochet is 100% original. I don’t use any type of machinery unless I am using my sewing machine. I handcraft every project that you see. Not only that, I offer spiritual healing services along with my art. You come to my store to get a crochet item or a tarot reading here and there not realizing the Mo’s Crochet experience is about to bring you so much healing and restoration. I want to motivate others through my art journey and show others there is nothing they can’t accomplish. You can literally start a new craft TODAY if you wanted to. There has been some challenges along the way regarding me staying patient and open-minded. Being a small business owner is tough, and there’s so much more to building a solid foundation than what meets the eye. It takes long nights and early mornings just to get to a breathing point in building a brand/business and even after that I noticed, I had so much work that still has to be done… I can’t just stop here. Rest, breathe, rejuvenate and get back to work. I had to work to overcome many different challenges, like believing in myself for one. I would doubt myself so much and downplay my work that others thought it was okay as well. Doubting myself wasn’t the way to go and coming out of that lack mentality was everything for the growth of my business. It took me a while to learn that I set my own boundaries on my business journey. Once I began believing in my growth and abilities I’ve noticed an increase in my website traffic and sales because I promote my brand differently now. I want others to follow my journey and join the Mo’s Crochet brand and movement. Mo’s Crochet brand is here to promote art ,healing, growth, manifesting, learning and the power of self-love. As we expand and continue to grow as a family I will continue to discover all that I can for my clients. Trust Mo’s Crochet & Spiritual Shop with your handmade art projects, spiritual healing journey and watch how WE grow TOGETHER!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When my best friend comes to town we may take a trip to our favorite Jamaican restaurant in Atlanta, Tropical Cuisine and take a trip to my fav cool off spot Roswell Mill. We enjoy long walks and hikes in nature so occasionally we’ll go along the hiking trails or take a walk in the mall just to relax. Another spot of ours is Jeju Sauna, that spot is amazing! I haven’t been to a spa yet that has done better than them and I do a lot of traveling. And their kalbi dinner is sooo good. No one has been able to top those spots for me so if you’re in town, check them out! You will not be disappointed by your experience. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shoutout my parents for loving me and guiding me in the best way possible, my two best friends for keeping me on my grind, and my BEAUTIFUL cousin Brittany Moesha who lost her life in 2019 and has been my guardian angel/butterfly/firefly along my journey. These people help keep me grounded and in one piece. I wouldn’t have the drive, inspiration or motivation that I do have, without them.
