We had the good fortune of connecting with Indigo Phoenix and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Indigo Phoenix, why did you pursue a creative career?
I’ve always followed my spiritual purpose and for as long as I can remember music and performing has been apart of that,
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I want people to be their most authentic selves. I want the world to be bold, be unique, and be free my artistry is centered around that. My fashions are avant-garde, my hair is funky, my music is honest and freeing. That authenticity drives me to endure every challenge because the journey and end game is well worth it.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Me and my Life Woe love going to Joey D’s Oak room for lunch or dinner and Poor Calvin’s is a cool spot for cocktails. Little Five Points always has some cool and unique spots to explore. I always like to go there to get some creative juices flowing. Night life is the best in Edgewood! It’s the culture! You can always count on great music and fun vibes in Edgewood.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I dedicate my shoutout to Chrisette Michele. She was my first mentor in my music career and her tutelage really helped me develop my wings.
